The First Friendship

Septemeber 1st, the day we had hoped would change everything. Hagrid had shown up around 11am. When he showed up, we immediately left the house. He showed us our animals before taking us to where our stuff was kept in storage and taking us to the train station.

We arrive at King's Cross Station, up on a crossing bridge. Harry and I have our carts of our baggage, equipment, and animals. We walk beside Hagrid as a couple looks at Hagrid suspiciously. "What're you looking at?" He says before looking at his watch.

"Blimey, is that the time? Sorry, youngins' I'm gonna have to leave you. Dumbledore will be wanting his, uh... well, he'll be wanting to see me. Now, uh, your train leaves in 10 minutes. Here's your guys' tickets." Hagrid says, handing us our tickets. "Stick to it. That's very important. Stick to your ticket." He says, I smile at him as he walks away, and Harry inspects our tickets.

"Platform 9¾?" But, Hagrid, there must be a mistake. This says Platform 9¾. There's no such thing, is there?" He says bot, knowing Hagrid walked away. As he looks up and notices. He frowns, looking at me as I read the ticket and see he read it correctly. I tilt my head frowning with him before he led me to a guard.

"Excuse me, excuse me," he says, trying to grt his attention. The guard helps a woman before Harry tries again. "Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me where I might find Platform 9¾?" Harry asks. "9¾? Think you're being funny, do ya?" He says, thinking we are ridiculous.

He walks away, muttering about our platform. Harry then notices a woman, daughter, and four boys walk by, pushing carts. "It's the same year after year. Always packed with Muggles, of course." The lady says. That gains my attention, and I nudge Harry.

"Come on. Platform 9¾ this way! All right, Percy, you first." She says, shoving a boy forward. A tall boy with red hair, called Percy, comes forward and runs towards a brick wall. Amazingly, he disappears right into it. We stare amazed.

"Fred, you next." She says, shoving the next boy forward. "He's not Fred, I am!" Another boy, identical to the one in front, says. The one in front adds, "Honestly, woman, you call yourself our mother." I giggle, staring at them as Harry is still awestruck. "Oh, I'm sorry, George." The mother apologizes. One of them leaned against the wall, "I'm only joking. I am Fred." He says, running through, followed by the other twin.

Harry shakes his head in disbelief as I giggle more, "Excuse me! C-could you tell me how to...?" Harry asks the mum. "How to get on the platform? Yes, not to worry, dear. It's Ron's first time to Hogwarts as well." She says as the last boy smiles.

"Now, all you've got to do is walk straight at the wall between platforms 9 and 10. Best do it at a bit of a run if you're nervous." She informs us, I immediately listen and run through as she wishes us Goodluck. The red-headed twins from before catch me as I stumbled a little. I grab my small notebook and write to them, 'Thank you' it reads.

"You need any help?" One asks, I nod seeing Harry isn't through yet. One takes the snakes cage, and the other takes my trunk before leading me to the train. "Your brothers going to the same place, he'll find you don't worry," one says, noticing I looked back. I smile softly at him as they lead me to a train cart after putting some of our stuff away.

"I'm Fred," one says, "And in George," the other says as we take our seats. The twins sit across from me as I sit the snakes cage on the seat next to me. "What are their names?" George asks, "and can we send them to bit our brothers?" Fred asks. I laugh writing their names down, "Diamond and Sapphire," George reads. "And what about my question?" Fred asks. I laugh, shaking my head no.

Fred pouts as George laughs, "What's your name, love?" George asks. I blush slightly, writing down my first name. "Hally, well, ain't that a pretty name," Fred flirts. I smile and point to the writing from earlier that says thank you.

As the train starts and we start our trip we talk about them. Their last name is Weasley, and they have 4 brothers and 1 sister. My jaw drops, "Mum and dad kept trying for a girl, I guess," Fred jokes, making me laugh. George laughs, and we continue joking the whole ride. We spend the rest of the ride with the boys telling me about hogwarts and the houses.

Gryffindor is for the brave, Slytherin is for the cunning/usually evil, Hufflepuff is for the nice, and Ravenclaw is for the smarts. They tell me about professors and inform me to watch out for Snape. He hates everyone except his house, Slytherin.

They tell me how their entire house has been placed in Gryffindor and only have two left to be sorted, a brother this year, and their little sister next year. We keep talking before George points out that we are close and we should change into our robes. I check on the snakes before letting the twins show me to the bathrooms. I thank them with my note before heading in.

I quickly changed and headed back out to see they waited. I smile and thank them again and quickly check on the snakes who I find are sleeping still. "So can you talk?" Fred asks as we sit back down. I write down an explanation for them, 'Sometimes, I have something called selective mutism. Although it shouldn't be, because I don't select when to talk, it's random, but people who know me longer have a better chance of hesring me. Especially if i'm close to them.' it reads. As they read their faces turn to frowns "Oh.." Fred says before apologizing. George apologizes after.

'No need, thanks for everything you did today. Im going to go find my brother and hope he's not mad. I hope to see you both again.' I write as we stop. They say goodbye, and I wave as I quickly rush to find Harry before everyone starts exiting the train.
