                                DHWANI

My name is Dhwani Shah. I'm 25 years old, a software engineer by profession, and a dreamer by nature. Life in Mumbai is a chaotic symphony of sounds, smells, and colors, and somehow, I've learned to thrive amidst the hustle and bustle. I live with my family in a modest apartment in Dadar, a lively neighborhood that never seems to sleep. My family is the epitome of traditional Gujarati values, and while I love them dearly, their expectations often weigh heavily on my shoulders.

Every morning begins with the aroma of freshly brewed chai and the distant calls of the vegetable vendors. As I get ready for work, my mother, always the early riser, is already in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.

"Dhwani, beta, nashta kar lo!" she calls out, her voice warm and comforting. She's made my favorite today, poha, and I know she's going to ask the same question she asks every morning.

"Thanks, Maa. I'll eat quickly. I have an early meeting today," I reply, taking a seat at the dining table.

"Dhwani, when will you consider settling down? You know how worried your father is," she begins, her tone gentle yet firm. This is a conversation we have almost every day, and while I understand her concerns, it doesn't make it any easier.

"Maa, I know you're worried, but right now, my focus is on my career. I have big plans, and I need to work hard to achieve them," I say, trying to keep the frustration out of my voice. It's not that I'm against marriage; I just want to accomplish something for myself first.

My father, on the other hand, is a traditionalist to the core. He's a man of few words but holds strong opinions. He enters the room, his face serious as always. "Dhwani, tumhari Maa sahi keh rahi hai. It's time you think about your future. Life isn't just about work," he says, his eyes softening as he looks at me.

"I know, Papa. But please, give me a little more time," I plead, hoping to buy myself some peace for now.

With breakfast done, I grab my laptop bag and head out the door. The office is a 30-minute ride on the crowded local train, a journey I've come to know all too well. As I stand in the packed compartment, I let my mind wander to my dreams. I've always wanted to start my own tech company, to create something innovative that would change lives. But for now, I'm content with my job at one of Mumbai's top tech firms.

My office, located in the heart of the city, is a modern glass building that stands in stark contrast to the chaos outside. As I step into the elevator, I'm greeted by my colleague and best friend, Radhika.

"Good morning, Dhwani! Ready for another exciting day in tech paradise?" she jokes, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Oh, absolutely. Can't wait to dive into those endless lines of code," I reply with a grin. Radhika has been my rock since we started working together. She understands my ambitions and often encourages me to chase my dreams.

We settle into our workstations, and I start going through my emails. Today is a big day – we have a major presentation for a potential new project with Kapoor Enterprises, one of the biggest names in the business world. My heart skips a beat at the thought. This could be a game-changer for my career.

The meeting is scheduled for noon, and I spend the morning preparing my slides, making sure everything is perfect. As the clock ticks closer to twelve, my nerves start to get the better of me.

"Dhwani, relax. You've got this," Radhika reassures me, sensing my anxiety. I take a deep breath and nod, trying to calm my racing heart.

The conference room is already filling up when I walk in, laptop in hand. I set up my presentation and glance around the room. And that's when I see him – Reyansh Kapoor. He's sitting at the head of the table, exuding an aura of confidence and authority. I've heard a lot about him – his sharp business acumen, his ruthless tactics, and his undeniable charm. But seeing him in person is something else entirely.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us today," he begins, his voice smooth and commanding. "I'm looking forward to hearing about your proposal."

As I start my presentation, I can feel his eyes on me, and it's both unnerving and thrilling. I push through, focusing on my points, explaining the technical details with precision. When I'm done, there's a moment of silence, and then Reyansh speaks.

"Impressive work, Ms. Shah. Your ideas are innovative and well thought out. I believe we can move forward with this project," he says, a small smile playing on his lips.

I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. The meeting concludes, and as I gather my things, Reyansh approaches me.

"Dhwani, I'd like to discuss your ideas further. Can you stay back for a moment?" he asks, his tone polite yet firm.

"Of course, Mr. Kapoor," I reply, my heart pounding in my chest.

As the room clears out, it's just the two of us. He looks at me intently, and I feel a strange mix of curiosity and nervousness.

"Your presentation was impressive. Tell me, what drives you?" he asks, leaning back in his chair.

For a moment, I'm taken aback by the directness of his question. But then I gather my thoughts. "I've always been passionate about technology and innovation. I want to create something that makes a difference, something that people can use to improve their lives," I say, my voice steady.

He nods, seemingly satisfied with my answer. "I see potential in you, Dhwani. Keep up the good work," he says before standing up and leaving the room.

As I walk back to my desk, my mind is racing. What just happened? Why did he take such an interest in me? I push the thoughts aside and focus on my work, but the encounter with Reyansh lingers in my mind.

The rest of the day passes in a blur. As I head home, I can't help but replay the meeting in my head. There's something about Reyansh Kapoor that intrigues me, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

That night, as I sit in my room, I think about my future. I know I have a long way to go, but today felt like a step in the right direction. Little do I know that this is just the beginning of a journey that will change my life forever.

Just as I'm about to drift off to sleep, my phone buzzes with a message. It's from an unknown number. I open it, my heart skipping a beat.

"Meet me tomorrow at 10 AM at the café near your office. We need to talk. – R"

I stare at the message, a sense of unease creeping over me. What could Reyansh possibly want to discuss? And why the secrecy? I have no idea what's in store for me, but one thing is certain – my life is about to get a lot more complicated.
