Molly Forbes .POV.

As i sat back in my seat, the plane engines hummed softly, and i could'nt help but marvel at the sensations of soaring through the air. It's like being free, I thought even though I'm still confined to this cabin.

The past three years at Yale has been nothing short of a whirlwind balancing rigorous studies to fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor with practical work at the nearby hospitals has been challenging. I've hustled to earn money and gain practical experience, all while trying to forge new friendships from scratch. It hasn't been easy, but seeing how these efforts have paid off with top marks in all my classes keeps me motivated and also having a best friend by your side. Now, as I fly home for the holidays, finally I have a moment to exhale, to relax, and to reconnect.

I must have dozed off, when i felt little fingers yanking the end of my sundress I jolted awake scaring the older lady to my left.

I looked down at the tiny hands that belonged to a toddler in the seat in front of me, I could see that her parents had fallen asleep so she was bored, I wasn't mad I let her I didn't want to make a scene.

Driving towards our family farm, nostalgia tugged at my heart. I had promised Katie, my best friend and fellow aspiring doctor, that I'd only be gone for a week.

But now, surrounded by familiar landscapes and memories, I wished I could stay longer. Still, I never broke a promise.

Arriving at the old wooden door of our family home, Mum's voice echoed joyously through the house, announcing my return as the "hot shot doctor." Her infectious energy greeted me, and as she opened the door, I was enveloped in her warm embrace.

Her timeless beauty and unwavering love reminded me once again of how fortunate I was to have them.

"Hey Mum," I grinned, hugging her tightly before turning to Dad, whose proud smile mirrored hers. "Hey Dad," I said, embracing him warmly.

Moments later, I found myself tackled to the ground by Tom and Ollie, my mischievous younger brothers. Laughing heartily, I teased them for their over exaggerated greeting.

"Sorry, sis, thought you were an intruder," they chuckled, helping me up. Tom and Ollie were more than just brothers—they were my miracle twin brothers. Mum and Dad had adopted me when they couldn't have children of their own, but then, unexpectedly, they conceived Tom and Ollie.

I remembered the joyous day they found out Mum was pregnant—it was like a miracle unfolding before our eyes. That night, we danced to 'Dancing Queen' in celebration, and I will cherish that memory for the rest of my life.

As we settled in for the evening, Mum had prepared a feast of bangers (aka Sausages), mash, and gravy—my favorite food. We shared stories over dinner, reminiscing about old times and about how uni was going.

Later that night, lying in my childhood bedroom, I checked my phone and winced at its brightness. Katie had texted.

"Hey girl, I'm missing you so much. It's so boring without you—I'm literally just staring at the ceiling! Oh, and I've planned a big night out for when you get back. Sorry if I'm texting in the middle of the night—I have no idea what time it is down under!"

Smiling at her message, I replied briefly, promising to be back soon. Closing my eyes, I drifted off to sleep, grateful for the love of my family and the warmth of home.

The week flew by in a flurry of laughter, home-cooked meals, and Tom, Ollie and I being total fuck witts on our farm I want Katie to meet them one day. Saying goodbye at the airport was harder than I expected; I hugged Mum, Dad, Tom, and Ollie tightly. As the plane took off I was staring out the window wondering when the next time I would see them would be.
