Jungkook entered the house, fatigue evident in his every movement. He'd spent the entire day replaying the morning's argument with Iseul, trying to make sense of where everything had gone so wrong. As he stepped inside, he noticed the house was eerily quiet.
"Iseul?" he called out, but there was no response.
He walked into the living room and saw Iseul sitting on the couch, her suitcase packed and beside her. His heart sank.
"What's going on?" Jungkook asked, dread filling his voice.
Iseul looked up, her expression showingf frustration. "I can't do this anymore, Jungkook. I need some space. I can't stand being in this house with you right now."
Jungkook felt a pang of hurt and confusion. "Iseul, we can talk about this. We need to work through our problems, not run away from them."
She shook her head, standing up and crossing her arms. "Talk? We've talked so much, Jungkook, and nothing ever changes. You're always trying to please me, but it's never enough. I feel like I'm suffocating."
Jungkook felt his anger and frustration boiling over. "Iseul, I'm trying my best! I work hard to make you happy, to provide for us. What more do you want from me?"
"I want a husband who stands up for himself!" she snapped. "I want you to be a man, not some doormat who bends over backward for everyone. Sometimes I wish you would just shout at me, show me some real emotion instead of this constant appeasement."
Jungkook's eyes widened in shock. "You want me to shout at you? To get angry? That's not who I am, Iseul. I can't just change overnight."
Iseul's eyes filled with tears. "I know, Jungkook. But I'm not happy. I feel trapped, and nothing I do seems to make a difference."
Jungkook's voice softened, his heart aching. "Iseul, I'm sorry if I've made you feel that way. But blaming me for everything isn't fair. We both have our faults. Running away won't solve anything."
Iseul's expression hardened again. "You think I don't know that? But I can't stay here and pretend everything's fine when it's not. I just got fired, Jungkook. I lost my job, and I didn't know how to tell you. I need time to figure things out without feeling like a failure every day."
Jungkook took a step forward, his voice was low. "Why didn't you tell me? We could have faced it together. I'm your husband, Iseul. We're supposed to support each other."
She looked away, not daring to look at her husband "I didn't want to burden you with my problems. You're already doing so much, and I felt like a failure. And then you went and told Jimin oppa, and now he thinks less of me too."
Jungkook shook his head, desperation in his eyes. "That's not true. Jimin cares about you. He just wants to help. We both do."
Iseul scoffed, wiping her tears away angrily. "Help? All you do is make me feel worse! If you made more money, I wouldn't have to worry about any of this. I wouldn't have to work, and I could live the life I deserve."
The accusation hit Jungkook hard, his breath catching in his throat. "Iseul, I'm doing my best. The music industry is tough, but I'm working hard to make a name for myself. What more do you want from me?"
"I want a better life!" she shouted, her voice breaking. "I want to feel secure, to have everything I had before we got married. You promised me that, Jungkook, and you still haven't delivered."
Jungkook's eyes filled with tears. "Iseul, I'm sorry. I'm really trying. I love you, and I want to make you happy. But tearing me down and blaming me for everything won't solve our problems."
