Aaron's Pov
As I sat in my Bmw m8, driving towards the party of my cousin, I couldn't help but feel a sense of reluctance mixed with resignation. My cousin had insisted that I attend the party, and despite my reservations, I agreed to go out of a sense of familial obligation.
I pulled up outside the impressive palace, its grandeur and opulence evident even from the outside. As I stepped out of the car, I handed the key to the driver, instructing him to park it before making my way to the entrance.
As I approached the entrance of the palace, I was suddenly swarmed by the paparazzi, their cameras flashing and their voices shouting out questions. Taken aback by the sudden onslaught, I paused for a moment, trying to shield my eyes from the bright lights.
I couldn't stand the intrusion and intensity of the paparazzi. Their relentless pursuit of attention was suffocating, and I longed for a moment of peace and quiet away from their constant barrage of questions and cameras.
I walked past the paparazzi, ignoring their pleas for my attention and avoiding their pointed questions. I knew that whatever they printed in tomorrow's news would inevitably be twisted and sensationalized for the sake of selling papers.
"Don't give them the satisfaction," I muttered to myself, continuing on my way.
I'm a person who values actions over words. If any journalist dares to print something that tarnishes my image, they will surely face severe consequences. I have enough resources and influence to make their lives a living hell.
The paparazzi knew better than to cross the line with me. They were fully aware of my power and influence, and they knew not to press their luck by printing anything that could harm my reputation.
As I entered the party, all eyes were on me. I hated being the center of attention, but it seemed inevitable in these situations. The guests ogled and whispered in hushed tones, but not a single person had the courage to meet my gaze. They all knew better than to provoke my displeasure, and they kept their mouths shut in my presence.
My cousin, the birthday girl, walked over to me with a bright smile on her face.
"I'm so glad you could make it," she said, hugging me warmly. "I was starting to worry that you wouldn't come!"
My cousin's smile faltered slightly as she picked up on my cold tone.
"Yes... of course," she said, a hint of hurt in her voice. "Let's get right to the celebration then. I just wanted to introduce you to someone before we start."
My patience was running thinly, and I wasn't in the mood for idle chit-chat or introductions.
"I don't care," I replied, my voice cold and blunt. "I don't have time for pointless introductions. Just make it fast."
As we stood there, my cousin's mother, Sophia, approached us with a warm smile on her face.
"Aaron, my boy," she said, embracing me in a tight hug. "You've grown more handsome since the last time I saw you."
Then i said , "but Aunt we just met a week ago !. Sophia chuckled softly as she released me from the embrace.
"I know, but every time I see you, you seem to grow more mature and handsome," she replied. "It's like watching a flower bloom into full bloom."
Sophia gave me a fond pat on the shoulder before stepping away.
"I'll let you two catch up," she said, with a knowing smile. "I'll see you later."
Serena approached me with a pleading look on her face.
"Please," she said, her voice slightly desperate. "It's my birthday. Can you please just spare a few minutes for me?"
I let out a deep sigh, feeling my irritation growing.
"Fine," I replied, my tone firm but resigned. "But make it quick. I don't have much time to spare.
Serena began leading me to a secluded corner of the party. We maneuvered through the throngs of guests, who quickly parted to make way for us.
I reluctantly waited in the secluded corner, feeling my irritation growing with each passing second. But I reminded myself that it was Serena's birthday, so I tried to keep my annoyance at bay.
As Serena returned with the girl in the black dress, I was caught off guard. My phone slipped out of my hand and dropped to the floor in a clatter. My eyes widened as I took in the sight of her. Time seemed to slow down as I stared at her, my heart pounding in my chest.
Shock and surprise washed over me as I realized it was Eva standing there, the girl that had occupied my thoughts every night. My heart rate quickened even more as my eyes raked over her figure in the black dress.
I rubbed my eyes in disbelief, thinking that perhaps I was hallucinating. But no, she was still there, standing in front of me, looking even more beautiful than my imagination could capture.
My heart was racing with excitement as I stared at her. It was like my entire body was alive with a wild energy, as if I wanted to pounce on her and claim her right then and there.
All thoughts of my previous irritation vanished from my mind. All I could focus on was Eva, standing just a few feet away from me. I stared at her with an intensity that bordered on obsession, unable to tear my gaze away.
She looked breathtaking in that black gown, the fabric hugging her curves in all the right places. Her silver earrings sparkled in the dim light, drawing attention to her elegant neck. And those heels... I found myself unable to look away from her slender legs, accentuated by the black heels she wore.
I was too busy taking in the sight of Eva that I had almost knelt down to check her heels. But Serena's voice snapped me out of my reverie. She turned to Eva and said, "Meet my cousin, Aaron Alston."
As Serena introduced me, I saw a flicker of surprise and disbelief cross Eva's eyes. It was as if she couldn't believe that I was standing in front of her. I couldn't believe it either. I had fantasized about this moment so many times in my mind, but now that she was here, I was at a loss for words.
I saw the look of surprise and bewilderment on her face mirrored in my own. It was as if she was thinking the same thing I was: "Can this really be happening?" It was almost like looking into a reflection.
I tried to push away the hopeful thoughts that were rising in my mind. I reminded myself that she probably didn't remember me, that this was just a coincidence. But deep down, I couldn't help feeling a flicker of hope that she might remember me, just as I remembered her.
Before I could get lost in my thoughts again, Serena interrupted us and said, "Aaron, this is Eva. Eva Cullen, my best friend." I tried to keep my expression neutral, but I couldn't help feeling a pang of jealousy at the word "best friend."
I tried to rationalise it in my mind, telling myself that it was natural for Serena to introduce her best friend to me. But the word "best friend" grated on my nerves, igniting a spark of jealousy deep within me. I had no claim on Eva, but the thought of her being with someone else, even just as a friend, made me strangely uncomfortable.
I knew that my feelings were illogical and irrational, but I couldn't help the way I felt. The thought of her being close to someone else, even just as a friend, made me inexplicably jealous and possessive. I couldn't understand why I was feeling this way, but I couldn't shake off the feeling no matter how hard I tried.
The sound of her voice snapped me out of my thoughts. Her soft, melodious voice sent shivers down my spine, and I found myself listening intently to every word that came out of her mouth. I felt like I could listen to her talk for hours and never get tired of it.
Eva reached out her hand towards me, her slender fingers gracefully outstretched. Her eyes held a friendly smile, but there was something in her gaze that made me feel like she was studying me.
"Eva," she said, her voice soft and melodic.
