"Father wants to send Rodrick to Imperial College" Diana said one day.

"That's... nice... a bit much for a 16 year old but... if that's what he wants... that's great..." said Sarah in response. She knew her friend's father was a bit... obsessed with Rodrick's academic career.

"I guess he does but, you know how passionate Rodrick is about his band. It's his dream to make music, he's not that bad of a drummer either." Diana responded.

"That's true... but you know he's never really approved of that..."

"He doesn't approve of any of my or my brothers dreams!" Diana snapped, slamming her locker shut.

"He doesn't approve of Rodrick's band, Greg's dream to be a comedian or my art and dance In fact sometimes I doubt my parents know Greg fucking exists!" Diana continued.

Sarah winced at that and Diana sighed.

"Sorry... it's just that... well... father and mother have arranged a meeting with the queen this evening to try and get Rodrick into that school"

"He arranged a meeting with Queen Elizabeth ?" Sarah asked, clearly shocked.

Diana nodded.

"Yep. It's happening..."

It was obvious that Frank , her father, didn't care about what his children wanted. He cared about what he wanted and that's what mattered. Who cared how wrong it was to live your own stupid dreams through your children who have their own dreams.

All that mattered to Frank was somehow getting what he wanted...

Even if it met crushing his children's dreams like a foot would crush a bug. Who cared? Frank surely didn't.

Diana knew for certain Frank despised her. Why else would he yell at her for no reason every single day, why else would he threaten to beat her?

Her father hated her, and she just had to deal with it
