Waking up in a strange space wasn't anything new to me. But feeling peaceful when I did wake up was something new. Justin was already awake when I had woken up so I made my way downstairs and found him in the kitchen a cup in one hand and his phone in the other. He noticed me as I was a few feet away from him and set his phone down immediately slightly turning on the barstool he sat on.
"Hey, sorry didn't want to wake up up. You looked peaceful and figured you could use the sleep after everything."
"Yeah thanks I feel like that is the most sleep I have gotten in a while. What time is it?" I question slowly climbing onto the chair beside him.
"Its just before 11 am. So still time in the day to skate if you want." He poses to me taking a drink from his cup after.
"Yeah that sounds fine. Although I should probably stop and change clothes." I sat glancing at the oversized clothes on my body currently.
"Yeah we can stop and do that, there is a park with a good path I have been wanting to check out with my longboard." He pauses waiting to gauge my reaction before continuing, "But before that we need some breakfast. I was just going to make some eggs and toast do you want a cup of coffee while I make it?"
"Uhm, Yeah a cup would be great and just some toast is ok. I don't eat much in the morning." I try to offer to get out of a lot of food from him.
He sighs before turning going to a cupboard and grabbing out a cup handing it to me once he had poured it full of coffee.
"We will be doing a fair bit today, how about only one piece of toast and you try a single egg?" He asks hesitantly with a look on his face like he hopes I will agree to the idea.
I don't want to I am still unsure of everything after last night. But as becoming a theme with him I go against my better judgment and nod my head in agreement. We both eat our breakfast, I picked at mine the best I could and I think I made it though half of it to appease him. We are on our way to the Sevol's house, I am worried I know they are gone but I know thatJustin will want to come inside with me. I also know I haven't cleaned up the empty beer bottles all over nor been able to fix a hole in the wall beside my room from a few months ago that is kinda the shape of me being thrown into it.
"Alright I will be right back I will change really quick and be back." I try to rush out unbuckling my seat belt as he puts the car in park, hoping he will agree to stay here.
"I will follow you, take your time we aren't in a rush today we have plenty of time. Plus you have seen my room I want to see yours." He says with a soft smile trying trying to put me at ease, but doing the opposite.
"Oh um ok.. Um the house isn't the cleanest. Plus I mean my room isn't much, not nearly as nice as yours is. You are welcome to stay here."
"No it's fine Jale, I really do want to see what your room is like, plain or not." He states following behind me up to the front door.
I try not to react or comment on anything hoping he will just follow behind me and not think to much into anything. Thankfully he follows behind me through the living room, with empty beer bottles and cans scattered around the sunken in old green couch that has obviously seen better days. We make it to my room he follows silently behind me through the door taking in the sparse space. I don't have much and the Sevols haven't really provided me much either.
There is thankfully a sheet covered single mattress pushed up against the wall straight ahead as you walk into the room. A plastic bin sits beside the mattress that is used as an end table with the only lighting in the room just a simple lamp. He comes in and silently sits on the edge of the mattress now facing the way we came in. I don't say anything only going to the closet to hopefully find something clean to wear. Feeling his stare on my back I know he has noticed the broken closet door and wants to comment on the state of the house in whole.
