CHAPTER 2

"Drink this, my lady. This will give you strength for tonight"

I gulped seeing the bowl of herbs. Looking at her age, I can't expect more from her. She's like my grandma and of course, any grandma would do this. Without refusing her, I took the bowl from her hands and drank it in one go. Urgh... it's bitter! I wiped my mouth and sighed. Martha watched me for a moment and spoke again.

"Alpha Lee Dong-Wook asked me to take you to Alpha Jungkook's room. Please follow me"

It's happening... The heaviness in my chest grew harder with countless thoughts. I have already agreed to this and signed the agreement. Therefore, I have to face this. I said no word but got up from the bed I used as a chair until now. Is everything ready? I asked myself before leaving the room.

Yes. I took a shower and applied all the lotions I use at night. I am physically ready but not mentally. I am too terrified to face him. Before following Martha, I took a glance at my nightgown. This is the nightgown my aunt gifted me for my birthday I didn't wear it since it was too beautiful and I'm glad I saved it even though I didn't know this kind of day would come.

I stepped through the black marble floor barefooted. How luxurious and fancy. Even my feet feel so good to walk on this. Martha was walking ahead of me. I turned my head everywhere and glanced at the beautiful paintings on the walls. I am currently on the second floor of the house but I am sure there is another floor here.

Before I lost in my thoughts, I heard the sound of a wooden door opening grabbing my attention from the paintings on the walls. A huge black door was opened and Martha was waiting for me to walk inside. I sighed, taking the bravest step in my life ahead as I entered the room listening to the sound of Martha closing the door behind me.

I found myself alone in the middle of a room that had an aura of darkness and strength. The walls are gray and white while the floor is black marble. The king-size black wooden bed near the huge windows of the room was also covered with gray sheets. I took heavy steps towards the closed windows of the room glancing at the night sky that is welcoming a hurricane wholeheartedly. It's going to rain.

I hope this rainy night will wash away all the painful thoughts and painful feelings in me giving the recovery to Haerin. As I expected, I saw lightning flashing across the dark sky brightening up the whole sky. Such powerful lightning. Following the lightning, the roaring sound of thunder spread everywhere.

I rested my hand against the window watching the way the rain began to fall as if the sky was furious tonight. I wanted to open the window and step to the balcony so I could feel the coldness and rain but I behaved myself.

I don't know how long I stared at the rain while my mind was busy thinking about notorious things. The more I kept my eyes on the rain the more I could see the rapid growth of it. I could hear no more sound other than the furious thuds of the raindrops. But still, the rain couldn't match the way my heartbeat. The raindrops are slower and silent when compared to my heartbeat.

All of a sudden, my mind went blank when an unfamiliar yet strong smell hit my nose. The scent made my wolf somewhat reckless. What is this scent? So comfortable to feel... I closed my eyes and inhaled it sharply when I realized it was the scent of green apples and fresh mint leaves along with tobacco. A masculine scent. My heart raced to the pinnacle. No, my pulsation just became like the wings of a hummingbird.

Instantly, the door was pushed open. I jumped back, turning to face the door. The moment my eyes stopped at the entrance of the room, I saw the most beautiful person I'd ever seen in my life. Is... is this Alpha King Jeon Jungkook? My mind was blown as the nervousness consumed me.

I've never seen him before... no one had seen him because he kept a really low profile. Those red eyes... they stared at me without even blinking. I held my breath as my stubborn eyes observed him.
