Rain sat at the back of the classroom, her head bowed over her notebook. Her pen moved furiously, capturing the complex web of thoughts that had ensnared her mind since the beginning of the school year. Her dark hair fell like a curtain around her face, hiding her from the world, but she could still feel their eyes on her—judging, whispering, mocking.
Jennie, the queen bee of Brookfield High, had made Rain her target from day one. The taunts, the whispers, and the subtle yet devastating acts of cruelty had driven Rain to the edge. Today was no different. As the final bell rang, Jennie and her clique cornered Rain near the lockers.
"Hey, freak," Jennie sneered, flipping her golden hair over her shoulder. "What's in your little notebook today? More crazy scribbles?"Rain's grip tightened around her notebook. She wanted to lash out, to scream, to make them understand how much they were hurting her. But she remained silent, her eyes burning with suppressed rage.Suddenly, Jennie snatched the notebook from Rain's hands and began to flip through it. The other girls laughed as Jennie read aloud, mocking Rain's private thoughts and dreams.
"Give it back," Rain demanded, her voice trembling. "Or what?" Jennie taunted, holding the notebook just out of reach.
Rain lunged for it, and in the chaos, she managed to slap Jennie across the face. Jennie caught off guard, stumbled back with a shocked gasp. Gasps filled the hallway as a crowd of students gathered, eager to witness the spectacle.Recovering quickly, Jennie's face twisted with rage. She kicked Rain in the shin, causing her to yelp in pain. "You're gonna regret that you psycho!" Jennie screamed, slapping Rain back. The two girls clashed in a flurry of slaps and kicks, their screams echoing through the hallway.
