Ch- 45 | overreacting

December 18, 1994, Friday

Nora's POV

"And then he'd walked up the terrace to see two guys fucking" I exclaimed as Serene gasped and spoke "Damn a gay couple?" And Olivia reacted with a disgusted face.

I was narrating to them about what Noah witnessed at one of his friend's birthday parties. "What are you all talking about?" Zena joined in our conversations. I and Serene narrated the story to her when Olivia started to eat.

"That seems a bit unlikely given the fact they were just 13 or 14"

"Yea it does but who cares? We had a good laugh hearing it" I shrugged as I spotted Ainsley in the next table talking to Andrea. I hadn't talked to her since yesterday. I looked at her and waved causing her to give me a cold smile. My eyebrows frowned before Serene dragged me into the conversation she was having with Zena. I will take care of that later, I thought.

I walked out of the Transfiguration classroom when I spotted Ainsley walking past me with Avery. I caught up with them, "Hey" I greeted the girls. "Finally, you tried to initiate a conversation at least once today"

"I was just caught up with other stuff I couldn't talk to you"

Just when I was about to apologize, I was interrupted by the words she uttered causing me to rethink my decision of apologizing. "Who am I to try to talk to you? You must have been busy with your other friends"

"Don't talk like I'm not trying my best to keep the Quadro together just the way you guys are" I raised my voice. "Cause I am"

It might look like the Quadro is doing absolutely fine to others, but I can't remember the last time when it was just the four of us hanging out. Since we came to Hogwarts, all of our friend groups had expanded, mine and Ainsley's to be exact. Carla and Iris didn't get that close with anyone here except the Slytherin boys and Ravenclaw boys in our friend circle.

And we all had been feeling like the Quadro had been drifting apart. "You seemed to enjoy the company of people I don't like, and you talk to me just when you want to"

"Stop talking like a bitch, Carlton" I glared at her, Avery just stood there, awkwardly. "Don't act like you don't spend more time with your Hogwarts friends than us."

The bell for our next class rang making us stop our quarrel and part ways to get to our classes. Ofc, double potions with Snape were just what I wanted when I was on the verge of punching someone.

"Hey love" Draco greeted when I sat down next to him. "Hey" I muttered pulling out the potions book and notes. "You alright?" concern coated his tone as he spoke and put a hand on mine, which was on the table. My anger subsided a bit at his touch but was not yet dissipated fully. "Had an argument with Ainsley"

"I'm sure you guys will figure it out" he gave me an assuring smile which I returned.

I walked into the great hall for dinner, everyone was laughing and enjoying their meal, prolly planning on what to do this weekend as it was Saturday tmrw.

I walked up to the Slytherin table since only Blaise, Draco and Theo were here and none of the others had arrived yet. "Hey" I smiled as I sat down.

"Have you sorted it with Ainsley yet?" Draco asked. "No, I have been ignoring her since and she has been doing the same."

"What happened between you and her?" Theo asked just when Olivia and Serene sat on the next table, Serene's eyes and nose red. "Wait I'll be back" I told them as I tried to get up without tripping over my school robe.
