A very small get together was all it took for eda to accidentally expose herself and her late night activity with Raine just a week ago.
She was supposed to be listening to her sister tall to her about a recent court case. However she was smiling looking over at Raine who had excused themselves to a phone call and standing outside. All she could think about was how their hands moved on her, their gentle voice in her ear. The look in their-
"Edalyn? Are you listening to me?" Lilith asked, snapping the woman from her trance. "What?- oh uhm, yeah of course sorry" eda replied quickly, holding her temple. Lilith looked suspicious then traced eda's lingering gaze. "Why are you staring at Raine so intensively?" Lilith asked, starting to whisper. Eda blushed a little, a smile creeping on her face. "Well uh.." She muttered, her heart racing in her chest. Before she could even think to tell her sister the truth. Raine walked back in, and shot a quick wink at the woman before sitting beside Darius were they were before.
"Hell nah, I saw that Raine. What was that about?" Darius asked, looking at eda and Raine suspiciously. Edas cheeks burned brighter, failing to hide a smirk. Raine looked even more guilty, and suddenly Darius put the pieces together. He gasped. "Raine! You sly dog, dont tell me you actually did something" he joked, making both adults blush and exchange embarrassed gazes. "What? Darius are you talking about?" Lilith adked, unable to pick up the social clues.
Rapsody then looked at eda and higher on her shirt. "Mommy.. It's to loud" she complained. Eda reached in her purse and handed Rapsody noise cancelling headphones, and a picture book to read. "Sorry, she has sensory issues.. I'm thinking about taking her to the doctor to get her check out" eda sighed, stroking her daughters hair. "What about your phobia of the medical system?" Raine asked with a lopsided smile. Eda scoffed. "When I day me, I mean lily. Lily is going inside I am not" eda replied, making Lilith roll her eyes.
She felt Raine Held her hand under the table, while their kind gaze radiated into her soul. "I'm sure you'll be over your phobia one day" they said, making Darius scoff.
However while eda was mindlessly gushing over Raine, trying to hide her smile, she was unknowingly being watched by Ryan who just happened to be in the same place at the same time.
His gaze full of disappointment and jealousy. He saw how much eda was staring at Raine, smiling and a certain gaze in her eyes she used to look at him with. And to have Rapsody showing Raine something she mindlessly colored and Raine acting like it was the best price of army there ever seen made him even more angry. He knows eda would never give him another chance, but he wanted to prove himself to her, he wanted to prove he was better and could be a father.
He started to get up, but was almost immediately met with a cruel glare from the exact woman he's been staring at. A glare made of the angriest feelings known to man. She narrowed her eyes as if silently telling them.
I fucking dare you.
Ryan flinched, and slowly sat back down. His heart racing with fear.. And excitement? He's never felt this way about a woman before, let alone a woman he told to her face that she ment nothing to him. Once Ryan out his head down, eda looked back to her friends, giving them her full attention once again. "Eda, is everything okay?" Raine asked, intertwining their fingers with hers under the table.
She smiled, and nodded. "Mhm, I'm fine. Just thought I saw someone" eda explained, then looked at her daughter who was slowly nodding off. "Okay I'm going to head home so Rapsody can take a nap" she explained, and got up, Rapsody in her arms. "Alright, see you edalyn" Lilith waved. Unexpectedly, Raine filled her, waving Darius off. "I'm glad eda is happier these days" Lilith said, as she watched her sister drive away. "Speaking of being happier, how's your therapy going?"
Lilith looked down for an few seconds, then glanced over at him. "Normal I guess? I'm not exactly sure what it's supposed be like" Lilith replied, she's only been through 2 sessions, ad it all seemed overwhelming or incredibly embarrassing. She prided herself on being independent and self reliant, so having to pay someone to help deal with her emotions felt so hypocritical. "But how are you feeling? Any better?" He asked, a saddened look in his eye.
Lilith took a few seconds to consider. "Well.. Maybe? I don't feel nessasarily different, but I also don't feel as tired as I used to.." The blue haired woman explained. "Is that the right answer?" She immediately asked afterward. Making her friend laugh to himself. "There's not right or wrong answer, just be honest" he replied, a smile on his face that comforted his friend. "Thank you Darius, for everything" Lilith said quietly, a feeling in her chest that things could get better if she worked harder.
Sorry the chapter is short. I'm also not sure this will be as long as I want it to be..
