In the sleek, glass-walled conference room of Vante Enterprises, the atmosphere buzzed with the usual fervor. Taehyung Kim, the company’s charismatic CEO, sat at the head of the large, polished mahogany table. His dark eyes, usually filled with confident determination, flickered with a subtle worry as they lingered on his partner, Jimin.

Jimin, seated a few chairs down, was presenting the latest quarterly report. His voice, though steady, lacked its usual vibrancy. His normally bright eyes were dulled by shadows of fatigue, a stark contrast to the crisp white shirt and tailored navy suit he wore. Taehyung, ever the observant leader, couldn’t help but notice the way Jimin’s shoulders slumped ever so slightly, and the faint tremor in his hands as he clicked through his presentation slides.

As Jimin spoke, Taehyung’s mind drifted. He knew Jimin had a habit in the past of working late nights, often finding him in the office long after everyone else had gone home. It was part of what made Jimin such an invaluable partner—his dedication, his relentless pursuit of perfection. But lately, Taehyung had seen the toll it was taking, that Jimin might be repeating his unhealthy habits again.

Jimin, feeling the weight of Taehyung’s gaze, glanced up briefly and offered a small, reassuring smile. Taehyung returned the smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes. He knew Jimin too well to be fooled by a simple gesture.

“…and this concludes our analysis of the projected growth for the next quarter,” Jimin finished, stepping back from the screen and looking to Taehyung for feedback.

“Thank you, Jimin. Excellent work, as always,” Taehyung said, his voice warm but his eyes still filled with concern. “Let’s open the floor for questions.”

As the board members engaged in a flurry of inquiries and discussions, Taehyung’s thoughts remained fixed on Jimin. He watched as Jimin answered each question with practiced ease, yet each response seemed to drain him further.

Taehyung interjected occasionally, aiming to take some of the pressure off Jimin, but the underlying worry gnawed at him.

"Mr. Park doesn't seem okay? " Jay, one of their share holders commented, noticing Jimin state too.

Jimin immediately shook his head in denial, he didn't want anyone to assume anything about him.

"Might b-be the breakfast I had..... It's nothing too serious. We shall focus on the meeting, please." He offered a tiny yet tired smile to the former before looking at the projector again, intentionally avoiding any sort of eye contact with the CEO.

The meeting droned on, each passing minute feeling like an eternity for Jimin. The throbbing in his head intensified, transforming into a sharp, relentless pain. His vision blurred slightly, and his stomach churned ominously.

He had been skipping meals, running on caffeine and sheer willpower, and his body was finally rebelling against him. As he responded to yet another question, he felt a wave of nausea roll through him. The room seemed to tilt for a moment, and he knew he couldn’t hold out any longer.
