Hawkkit's little paws stomped against the dirt beneath him as his mother yowled at him.

"You're a disgrace! That's what you are, and that's all you'll ever be!" His mother yelped.

Hawkkit ducked by the apprentices den, the thing that could show his parents how strong he really was. He could prove them how useful he could be! Besides the warriors den, the apprentice den was his favorite.

"How you doing?" Frostkit, Hawkkit's best, slightly blind, friend, said cheerfully.

"Good enough..." Hawkkit mewed.

Frostkit huffs. "I heard your mother... don't listen to her. Your not a disgrace. Your strong, and after training, I bet you could defeat three entire warriors by yourself!"

Hawkkit sighs. "Thanks for trying but... my mother is the one who brought me to this world. If she thinks I'm a disgrace, then I am," Hakkit mewed sorrowfully, his head ducking to the side as his ears flattened against his head.

Frostkit pressed up against him comforting. "Just trust me, please?" Hawkkit sighs.

"Fine."

Stormfang pressed his face close to his mates. "Is Hawkkit being bad again?" She nods.

Frostkit frowns as Stormfang stomps over to Hawkkit. Frostkit steps infront of him, her ears pressed against her head. Stormfang stops when he gets close, and bares his teeth. "Frostkit, out of the way. I need to talk to Hawkkit."

Frostkit shakes her head. "You get away! He did nothing wrong, Mr.Deputy."

"And that Mr.Deputy controls you, and so he demands you step aside," Stormfang growls.

"And who said you control me? My mama does!" Stormfang bares his teeth as he snarls again. He's clearly annoyed.

Skunktail then popped his head out of his den. "Stormfang, leave the kit alone! I know he's your son, but that doesn't give you the right to yell at him for stupid reasons," Skunktail scolded. Stormfang's tail flicked.

"Fine then. Bye, Hawkkit." Stormfang stormed back away. Skunktail approached the two kits.

"I'm so sorry Hawkkit, you don't deserve the parents you have. But when your an apprentice, trust me, you'll prove your parents wrong. You'll show them your no disgrace. You'll be better then your brothers, way better."

"Thanks Skunktail..." Hawkkit murmured. Skunktail nodded a 'your welcome', then ducking back inside his den.

Hawkkit noticed it getting late, and so he collapsed into his nest with exhaustion, drifting off to sleep.
