{This was a story I started writing as a 10 year old with some minor tweaks, it's not very good but I thought I'd share it with other wattpad users anyways}
Lillith woke up and suddenly felt a strange sensation, she had never felt one like it before, it made her scared, it made her feel weak. She knew she had to force herself out of bed and somehow she pulled together all the energy she could possibly muster and she did it she got out of bed, now that she was up she didn't know what to do after all it was a weekend but she knew she couldn't just lay back down. So she picked out an outfit, nothing extravagant, just a black long sleeve shirt and some very, very, dark blue jeans. She slowly sulked down the staircase, into the kitchen where she saw her mother and father in the kitchen, frantically trying to make their lunches, just because kids have weekends off doesn't mean that parents do. Lillith often found herself wishing for attention from her parents, every time she wished for that she corrected herself, she used to wish for attention, now she was becoming quite a lone wolf and like the lone wolf she is she needs her privacy and she doesn't have any living with her parents so she hatched a plan, to escape from her comforting nightmare. After about an hour of their frantic preparation they finally went to work and gave her time to execute her plan, to finally be free. She waited for their car to disappear and then she waited for a few minutes, after that she packed everything she would need for at least a week in the wild and with that she was gone. Lilith didn't really know where she was going but she knew she was leaving, living off her own wit, abandoning her parents forever, and weirdly she wasn't upset about it, she knew it was time she was already sixteen. She walked on for what felt like an eternity but she noted that it had only been two hours. She walked and walked until she made it to a childrens playground where she decided to set up camp, after an hour she drifted off to dreamland, not to be woken for many hours, or so she thought. Twenty minutes later she knew she had made a mistake not finding anyone to stay with while she couldn't afford a house, but she blamed it all on her stupidity causing her not to be able to sleep, to be worried about what the future holds. Eventually the sun rose and she got up, only to be met with the sound of police sirens. She knew they were for her, probably since her parents are having a full fledged mental breakdown, wait, how did she know they were losing their minds, eh, call it a hunch. She then heard a twig snap behind her and just assumed that she had been caught by the cops for some reason she didn't even attempt to run away, she just sat there because she knew she had to be with her parents. As the person turned the corner she realized, it was not a cop at all, and she had just given herself willingly to a stranger. A hand suddenly came up from behind with a white cloth then it all went blank. She woke up feeling drowsy and saw a person lurking in the protective darkness of the corner "w-w-w-who are you" she stuttered "that is none of your concern" he said with a british accent but still confident and strong. "Where am i and what do you want with me" "you are in a secret location and what we want with you is none of your concern", with that he grabbed the cloth and held it over her mouth, before she knew it the world slipped away into darkness. She woke up with a sharp pain in her forehead and she realized there were no more shadows, just bright, bright sunshine. She was terrified and what she saw next terrified her even more. All of her kidnappers (she noted there were four of them) were not wearing masks and she knew that meant they don't plan to set her free, they were going to kill her. They knew she could go to the police to identify the criminals, leaving them to rot away in prison. She also noticed a camera, they were going to make her film a hostage video and she knew her parents were broke they couldn't pay the ransom and they even left their hideout so the cops couldn't trace it back to their hideout, it was almost foolproof and she knew she likely wouldn't make it out alive.There were two guys standing in front of her and oddly they were holding this big white sign and then she realized it wasn't odd at all it was for the hostage video. She read through the sign in her head until her brain felt like mush "Ok you read what's on the sign and no funny business" and she realized he was armed so she knew if she wanted to survive she would have to behave. She read aloud what the sign said "I have been kidnapped if you ever want to see me again pay $20000 to my kidnappers and bring the package because all promises must be kept even if they are decades old" as she said the words she knew there was so much more to this kidnapping than what she originally thought, her parents must have known her kidnappers. Lilith was growing more and more confused but before she could process what she had just learned the white cloth came back around her face, over her mouth and nose while her mind went blank and her vision faded to black, losing consciousness. She woke up again in the dark room with the man in the corner watching her, this time he looked different. He looked angrier like if she made one wrong move she was a goner. She sat there in depressing silence for as long as she could and right before she could start blurting out her questions the man in the corner left through the door right next to the corner he was hiding in, she was left alone to stew in her own thoughts. After stewing in her thoughts she realized thinking is pointless because if she didn't escape she was going to die and she didn't even say goodbye to her parents before she left, she had to get out of there. She didn't waste a second she stood up and when she stood up she expected resistance but there was none and that could only mean one thing, her captors hadn't made any attempt to tie her up and she was free. She looked around the room and saw something shiny sparkling in the corner, could it be a weapon, a tool to escape or maybe it was a device she could call for help on so she ran to the corner where the guy was hiding and before she reached for the object she checked to make sure the door was locked and as expected, it was. She reached out and grabbed at the tiny object but it was on a shelf that was much taller than she was and it made it hard to fully grasp the object, nevertheless she did it and when she finally pulled it down she saw it was a burner phone but it was a weird kind that only let you talk to people in the contact list so that meant no calling the cops or her parents. She then heard the lock click and decided to hide the phone in another shelf beside where she was lying and pretend like she hadn't ever left her corner. People started pooling in and she realized if they were all in on it she was way outnumbered and had no chance to fight them all off, who was she kidding she couldn't even fight off one guy much less a thousand so she sat and sat as they stood there staring at her in silence and she finally said "I'm hungry do you guys have any food, if you don't feed me soon i will die and my parents won't pay up", a gruff voice replies "the girl's right the parents won't pay for her corpse, fine go make her a sandwich but nothing special, ham and cheese only, and not the good cheese". With that they all left and that gave her time to sneak out the phone and go through the contacts in hopes of finding out who her kidnappers are and what they want with her. She saw a name at the very top of the list Marcus Peterson, with that she heard the lock click.
She was terrified because her life was literally in their hands and she was testing her boundaries so she threw the phone under the shelf next to her little spot in the corner and positioned herself towards the wall, trying her best to look bored and then the door opened and in came a man with a sandwich for her and if she was being honest she was starving and even though it was always a bad idea to eat anything from your captors but she knew they needed her alive so she decided it's better than starvation so she slowly approached the man and he gave her, her sandwich and just walked away without even saying a word to her. Why was she shocked? She was their prisoner and they owed her nothing. She didn't know anything about what was happening but she did know one thing and that was, she's terrified and then she remembered what her mom always used to say when she was scared to go to the dentist or the doctor "do what needs to be done first and worry about it after" she muttered to herself. It had been a few minutes since the man had left so she decided it was probably safe to take the phone back out her hand was shaking but she had to do what needed to be done and she could worry about it later. She continued scrolling through the contact list but then after finding almost nothing interesting she decided to check through all of the messages on the phone and then it hit her, whose phone was she scrolling through but she decided to ignore that and noticed that the first, maybe thirty contacts were talking about kidnapping people from her family and not just her immediate family all the way from her cousins to her grandparents and she knew this had to be on a personal level they were scheming against her whole family. She thought she heard footsteps so she put the phone away on the shelf and pretended to be asleep but after a while she fell asleep of boredom. She woke up to the sound of pans being smacked together and she knew she was more helpless than ever she can't even complain because she deserved it for running away but when she felt herself getting soft she forced those thoughts out of her head grabbed the phone again and noticed there was a new contact at the very top it said kids parents, then it hit her it was her parents they were in contact and as much as she wanted to live on her own she can't get out alone so she decided to text them "hey it's lilith they are keeping me in a basement hurry they have guns please" she didn't even notice that she was saying what she was writing, she also didn't realize that one of her captors was walking up to the door, he was at a safe distance and when she noticed she immediately threw the phone back on the shelf and stared back at the wall and not a moment to soon he came in and said "boss wants to see you" and he sounded angry.
