Chapter 3: Hiyori's Interruption/(Y/n)'s Jealously

(A/N): I'm back once again with another exciting chapter! :D I've decided to update this story every week. I don't know what day exactly, but it will be once a week for sure.

Previously: I started to walk out of the alleyway, when I saw a girl about my age. She had straight brown hair and pink eyes. Yato eventually appeared behind me and his eyes held slight surprise when he noticed the girl.

"Hiyori?"

Your P.O.V.

Hiyori looked a bit flustered when she saw and heard Yato. Even though it seemed like she was annoyed by him, I could tell that there was something going on between the two.

Hiyori sighed, "Hello Yato..." she looked over at me, "Is she your new Regalia?"

I looked at the ground when all the attention was directed toward me.

"Yes, this is (Y/n) she is my Regalia," Yato responded.

"Hi.." I said a bit shyly.

Hiyori smiled and waved at me slightly. I blushed a bit in her surprising kindness. Yato smirked when he saw that Hiyori was near a small restaurant.

"Hiyori, mind if we eat there?" Yato said with his typical mischievous face.

She narrowed her eyes at Yato, "As in we, I have to pay for all of it."

Yato pleaded but she still gave a disagreeable look. Hiyori gave eyes of pity when she looked over at me. I had a feeling that she only accepted Yato's offer because of me.

In the restaurant, I ate (favorite food) and drank (favorite drink). I was sitting next to Hiyori while Yato was across from us scarfing down tons of food at a time. Hiyori's face showed hints of annoyance. There was pretty much silence the whole time we were eating.

"Yato?" Hiyori asked, "Can people usually see you?"

Yato looked up from his plate and looked over at the huge glass window.

"Yeah, but I'm not very noticeable..I just blend in with the crowd. I'm pretty much like a person that you would pass by on the street and would forget the next day."

Hiyori nodded slightly and looked over at me. "I guess it's the same with (Y/n) as a Regalia right?"

I nodded and poked the food on my plate with a fork. Yato seemed to be finished with with his food and stared at me a bit.

"(Y/n), you don't seem very talkative today. Unlike this morning, you were pretty mad me. You almost slapped me!!" Yato grunted.

My cheeks heated up in embarrassment.

"You were awake?!" I shouted. It seemed like everyone in the restaurant was staring at us. I couldn't take all the pressure and bolted up from my seat.

"I-I'm just going to get some air," I stuttered and left the restaurant.

I sat outside on the stairs of the restaurant sighed deeply. I couldn't believe Yato would just blurt out something embarrassing as that. I wonder if he was awake the whole time. Even when...I was very close to his face.... I let my mind wander about his face. Yato seemed so peaceful when he was asleep. He didn't have his typical happy-go-lucky tone and annoying personality. His face didn't have any slight imperfections. It was just...perfect. But why...why did he does he act so harsh? I knew that he did have a very sweet side, but I'm starting to doubt it now...My eyes became a bit watery...

Suddenly, I heard a noise behind me leaving the restaurant. It was none other than Hiyori. Even though she seemed to be a nice girl, I wasn't really in the mood to talk to her. I quickly wiped my eyes when she came near me. Was I crying?

Hiyori's eyes widened when she saw my fragile position, "(Y/n)? Are you crying?"

She sat next to me and put her hand on my back.

I sniffled a bit, "N-no I'm not crying..I'm seriously no--"

I was cut off when I felt a small tear run down my cheek. Hiyori hugged me tightly and made me start sobbing into her shirt. I felt Hiyori smile into my shoulder sympathetically. I guess I could trust her after all..

Yato's P.O.V.

I scoffed a bit after (Y/n) left the restaurant. I didn't know that I would upset her that much. She may look emotionless on the outside, but she really is a girl that could get hurt easily. Those are some things I learned after she became my Regalia. Hiyori held an unpleasant face as if I did something horribly wrong. She then looked down at her plate anxiously and set down her tea cup with a loud clank. We were both silent for a while, I was afraid that she would ask me something about her wish to 'change back to normal.' What surprised me though, was that she sat up and left the restaurant as well. I assumed that she when to go see (Y/n). Suddenly, out of no where, I heard some sort of sniffling as if someone was crying. I looked around and saw everyone acting normal. I then felt a tremendous pain in the back of my neck. (Y/n)...? What....did I get stung? I looked out the window and I heard her sob loud and clear. She was with Hiyori hugging her tightly, my stomach and heart did a flip. What did I just do..?

I slowly got up from my seat dragging the brown leather of my knee high boots on the floor. I finally arrived outside to where (Y/n) and Hiyori where. Hiyori sighed and sat up to look at my face.

"Yato....When are you going to change me back to normal?"

That's exactly what I thought would happen.

"Ehh.. well I got a bit busy so uh...." I grabbed (Y/n)'s hand and raced off in a different direction in an instant. I heard Hiyori calling my name and something about her wish, but I ignored it. While (Y/n) and I were walking in a somewhat fast pace, I felt her small warm hand disappear from my grasp.

"It's okay Yato... I can walk fine on my own.." I herd her say.

I watched her with guilt in my eyes as she walked far ahead of me. I didn't really understand her that well; her personally in general. I caught up to her when we arrived to the shrine. (Y/n) sat down on the stairs once again. It made me think back to when she became my Regalia; she had the exact same expression..emotionless.

"(Y/n)....I--" until I got cut off by someone.

"OUCH!!"

I turned around and saw Hiyori laying on the ground rubbing her head. I was confused because I thought for sure I teleported or something. Her pink phantom tail was showing now.

"Ehh...sorry for interrupting but I think I lost my body.." she said.

I sighed and face-palmed..pretty loud. And what made it even better was that there was a phantom right behind her. My eyes widened at how big it was. It looked like a giant frog. It stared down at me and it looked like it wanted to devour me.

"(Y/N)!! TRANSFORM NOW!!" I shouted.

I saw her get up slowly and transform into a beam of light. I got her once again with ease. I jumped up into the air and swung the massive sword creating a slice of light impale the giant phantom. It screamed in pain, but it wasn't enough to kill it. I landed on top of a lamp post and sighed.

"(Y/n), I need all your strength right now.." I said softly. I didn't think that her emotions would affect the sharpness of her blade.

I jumped back up into the air and attacked the phantom numerous times until it finally disappeared. I panted when I landed back into the ground. (Y/n) reverted back into a human once again.

"Thank you (Y/n)," I managed to say to her.

Her emerald orbs looked up at me and she....smiled.
