„Five."

„The buttons!!"

„Four."

I can't breathe.

„Three."

The guy and the girl jump up and run towards the buttons.

„Two."

Please.

One."

They both quickly press the button.

And fall to the ground.

All the muscles are tense, it feels like every part of my body is throbbing with pain and adrenaline and almost exploding. I look around frantically, the girl and the guy too.
Nothing happens.

A sound.

They both take out their phones, I can't do it right now.

„Game cleared. Congratulations."

Everyone looks at the hunter, even Chishyia who is standing at the door. I'm still sitting right next to the hunter, with Chishiya's stun gun in my shaking hand and my Dagger a few meters away. I slowly back away from the hunter, but my eyes never leave him.

He moves and sits up.

Or her?

A woman, she looks disturbed and panicked, as if she knew what was about to happen to her. I notice that she is wearing a collar, which is now starting to glow blue.

Nobody moves.

"Oh no..."

The collar explodes.

Blood. Everywhere.

I wince and turn my head away, hoping I don't get any blood on my face. Nevertheless, I feel the drops of blood on my uniform. I slowly dare to turn around. Her death body is just lying there, the wall behind her is now completely red, the walls on the sides have also received a few splashes and even Chishyia's white jacket is not unscathed.
His gaze is empty. I doubt this is the first time he's seen this. I've seen this so many times, but it's still a struggle to process it.
The boy with dark hair walks out a nd a moment later the girl follows him. My gaze remains on the dead woman in front of me. A few minutes ago I was fighting with her for my own life and barely survived. My ankles are bloody and swollen. My legs feel heavy and my heart is still pounding against my chest. I feel a warm liquid running down my forehead. I must have hit my head when the hunter threw me against the door.

"How pathetic."

I hear Chishiya mumble. I look up at him and realize he means me.

"Huh?"

"The people of the Besch fear you. You've never had a problem watching people die in front of you, and now you do. Ridiculous if you ask me."

"But I didn't."

He tilts his head slightly

"Huh?"

"I didn't ask you."

He rolls his eyes and chuckles as I slowly stand up, the pain in my legs only getting worse.

"The Night has a very structured and easy to understand plan when it comes to when you play. I wasn't expecting you here since you're actually playing tomorrow. Why does Lyria send you to play?"

I said nothing to his comment, grab my Dagger that's lying next to the dead body, put it back in the side pocket of my waist and walk towards him until I stop right in front of him.
