Based on a true incident but all plots are fictitious!

The news spread quickly. Thanks to social media, there was a rapid international response. Thailand's parliament had paved the way for the legalization of same-sex marriage in the country and therefore became the first Southeast Asian nation to do so. After passing the House of Representatives, the Senate had approved the marriage equality bill.

Sailub had just learned of the good news, spending his break in shooting with withdrawing from the others to rest on the soft sofa at the end of the room comfortably and scroll through the notifications on his cell phone. His "For You"-page was shaped by the news and a lot of pictures that included Pride flags that stained his display colorfully. A contented smile crept onto his face while he shared the Instagram post of an official Thai news channel in his story, a lot of his friends had referred to before. He was pleased to hear that marriage equality would finally come true, because he did not understand why a distinction was made before. Love is love. Sailub had always been a supporter, who had stood up for the rights of the LGBT+ community. He wanted everyone to have equal rights. For a long time, he had not known why these things bothered him so much. He had not understood that he was more than just an ally. Not until the day he met him.

His gaze unconsciously wandered to the pretty young man on the opposite side of the room. Sailub's soft smile grew wider, showing his dimples. Pon was chatting with his friends and laughed about something one of the other cast members had said. His laughter resounded through the room, filling it with pure joy. He had always been able to captivate the attention of others with his lightness and cheerfulness. Sailub could not help but stare at Pon and admire him with sparkling eyes that expressed his love for the younger one... And got caught!

Michael cleared his throat loudly.

"What are you smiling at, P'Sai?" he asked teasingly.

Everyone's attention was on Sailub now. A feeling of heat came over him and his cheeks turned a little red. He quickly averted his gaze back to his cell phone that he was still holding in his hand and unexpectedly found an answer to the previous question. He took a moment to gather himself, took a deep breath and then answered with a confident tone.

"I'm simply delighted that the marriage equality bill had passed the parliament."

His eyes locked with Pon's while he was speaking because he had intended to emphasize the news, especially for him. The world stopped for a moment and everyone else was forgotten. They looked deep into each other's eyes and their close bond was clear to see. Pon's expression was gentle and full of love. Sailub could not withstand his gaze for long because he got flustered by the beautiful eyes, although he had been the one who sought eye contact. He averted his gaze. His heart was beating fast against his chest, as if it wanted to pop out at any moment. Every time they looked at each other like that, he knew how much the smaller one meant to him. He was head over heels even if he was not always good at expressing his feelings.

Everyone in the room knew that Sailub had just lied but they tacitly approved of his answer and rejoiced at the voting of the Senate that had turned out positive with many voices in favor. Only Michael could not resist one last comment, rolling his eyes.

"Nah, you were watching your sweetheart because you're annoyingly in love."

Pon grinned broadly because he knew Michael was right. The piercing glances of Sailub, who had secretly adored him, had been noticeable to him immediately without looking. He still pretended to slap Michael in the face to scold him for his statement. Michael pulled a pouty face and Sailub was secretly proud of Pon.

It had not always been easy between them. Everything had started with a kiss that had thrown Sailub off course and confused his feelings. For a while, he could not admit to having developed interest in a man. Nevertheless, he always ended up in Pon's arms. At some point he could no longer hide his feelings and decided to risk it all even if he was afraid of losing everything. He let himself be driven by his feelings and entered into a relationship with Pon. Their relationship was not a secret, but they had not announced it either because Sailub did not feel one hundred percent comfortable with his new identity yet. What he was hundred percent sure about was that he had never felt as comfortable with anyone as he did with Pon. The young man was able to give him the security he needed. He did not know how he deserved Pon by his side, especially since he did not understand how Pon could be so understanding and put up with his changing emotions.
