Ashley's POV.
Waking up the next day, I smiled when I remembered the time I spent with Nash, how relieved I was to talk to someone about how I felt, to be understood and to know that I wasn't alone in this bubble.
I knew that today, was going to be my fresh new start.
I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and straightened my hair, washed my face, and then went back into my bedroom, changed into leggings and a hoodie since the weather was a bit chilly out there and then went downstairs to have breakfast.
It was as if 'The Toby incident' never happened.
I had breakfast, took my car and drove to school. And as soon as I parked my car and was about to get out of it, someone rushed to me.
"Ashley, how are you?"
Oh my god really! Can't my day go all well for at least once!?
"Perfect" I said.
"Don't walk away from me, give me a minute to explain" Toby hurried trying to stop me.
"I don't want your explanation Toby, it is over."
For the first time, I meant what I said. I always get so angry and spill out things that I never mean, but this time, I meant every bit of it.
I was in class when Melissa texted me.
"You okay? heard about yesterday.. I'm really sorry, you deserve way better than this fucker"
"Yes I am you silly, and YES I DESERVE WAY BETTER than him" I sent back
"That's ma gurl. Cya at lunch." She replied back.
I love my best friend.
The next period, both Nash and Toby were with me in class.
As soon as the bell rang and I went to class, Nash hurried toward me and had the seat beside me to prevent Toby from sitting beside me.
Everybody knew that seat was Toby's. But not today.
"Morning Mr.Rude" I greeted Nash when he sat beside me.
"Morning Miss Ambitious"
Toby walked in and he shot Nash a death glare but Nash just brushed him off.
"Are you better today?" Nash asked me.
"Way better." I smiled at him.
"Now we share secrets and we have our own secret place, look how fast life is."
"It truly is fast, Nash."

The bell rang and now it was time to go home.
We were all walking out of the school's gate to our cars when Toby showed up.
"Come with me" Toby grabbed my hand.
"Heyyy! Leave me" I yelled at him.
He didn't even react to my yelling, he grabbed me even tighter, my hands were in real pain I couldn't fight back.
"Heyy! She told you to leave her, now get your hands off her." Nash said
"Stay out of this you son of a .."
BAM!
Toby was on the ground.
Nash hit him hard in the face that everyone noticed and were gathered around us in seconds.
"FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT" they shouted.
But thank god Toby wasn't in the right shape to stand up and fight back, so Nash just grabbed my hands and walked me away.
Andrew, Hanna, Melissa, Jake and Jessica were following, none of them spoke a word, they were all stunned.
"You okay?" Melissa asked.
"Yes. I guess I am."
"I've always disliked Toby but I thought I had to tolerate him for your sake, good thing you're over with him" Jake said.
"Couldn't agree more" Andrew said.
"Sorry for that guys." I said sheepishly to Andrew and Jake. "Thank you Nash for taking his hands off mine"
"Don't thank me, I had to do this, you're my best friend."
My heart skipped a beat when I heard the words "best friend".
I mean yes, we've got really close, we've shared secrets and stuff that no one ever knew about, we're neighbors so it's like we're 24/7 together, but I never thought he would let me in.
"Okayyy fine stop with the cheesy comments, wanna grab a bite guys?" I panicked.
I think Nash understood how I felt, because he smirked and walked away to the driver seat.
Another good thing about Nash, is that he almost took over my car, not like I mind, it was like he's my private driver now, he drives me almost everywhere, he even got to keep my spare keys to himself.
