Joy was born in the United Kingdom and comes from a pretty wealthy family. Her parents raised her with respect and talent for playing piano. With her parents having such successful jobs, she took inspiration from it for her future. Every child has their dream jobs, and for Joy that was to become a surgeon. She always had an interest in the human body, she never complained about going to the doctor or a hospital but instead showed interest and asked questions.
When 15, her friends heard about the deep web and as a joke wanted to browse through it. During a sleepover they had done so. While Joy's friends were disgusted or laughing about stuff they found, Joy herself saw a future and opportunity. Though she knew she was too young to mess with this stuff, she now knew what she wanted to do with her life.
When she turned 18, Joy moved to the United States of America by herself and studied to become a doctor, her parents paying for the studies and her new home. She would have studied for surgeon but at this point she was already highly self-taught. An education to become a surgeon would only take many extra years of studying and she would learn things the legal way or what she already learned on her own. Joy preferred experimenting and doing things her way, the things they don't teach at school.
After university, she took a job as a nurse at a hospital, but after her work hours is when she reconnected with the idea of building a future on the deep web. She creates her own website named "Medical Services", offering medical services on the deep web. From there, she made contacts with the criminal world, till one day, she was noticed by Adam. He deployed Tanner to stalk on her and eventually take her to him.
Agreeing to becoming Adam's acquaintance, she was tasked with all sorts of jobs to join in on his sick games. Tanner for the first few months still had to keep an eye on her around the public, but grew a personal obsession with Joy.
Joy is quiet, calm and collected, and a professional self-taught surgeon. She is highly fascinated by the human body. No wonder her illegal surgeries shine excitement in her, and when she gets excited, she even seems a little twisted. Just like her name, it is pure joy. Though not a killer herself, murder and torture always satisfied her too. Maybe Tanner is just what she needs to put her fascination into action.

Her parents still have a decent amount of contact with Joy, but they do not know about her dark secret.
She uses a scalpel as weapon.
Joy drives a black Mercedes-Benz W123.
Her favorite movie franchise is Saw. The gore in this franchise always intrigued her, feeding more onto her twisted fantasy.
Joy loves Queen and classicals. Listening to Bohemian Rhapsody or Danse Macabre while performing a surgery is pure art.
She loves tea. Her favorite is lemon tea.
From a very young age she was taught to play piano.
-Headcanons with Tanner-
When Tanner first heard her voice, he mocked her British accent. He calls her princess to mock her but later on british pet names became genuine.
There's a time Tanner went with her for a job. Her client asks "I thought you worked alone?". It's awkward for a second, Joy looks at Tanner and responds: "This is... my partner". Tanner just looks at her and winks. The rest of the job he liked to tease her.
Tanner loves fixing Joy's tie while they are talking.
Though Tanner would say "i like you" or "i love you" in a more easy and playful way. Joy doesn't say it at all, but she doesn't need to for him to know. If she was to say it, it would be very rarely yet meaningful.
She sometimes plays piano for Tanner. He's not allowed to play with her though, or to touch the piano.
