I shush her and hide her in my closet with my guitar and mentally ready myself for god knows what he'll throw at me
"Keep the damn racket down!" Dad yells at me. He doesn't have anything in his hands which is good. No more broken glass to clean out of the carpet
"Sorry pops"
"You sassin' me boy?!" Oh shit it's one of those nights
"No sir"
"Good. I'm- I'm gonna go buy beer"
"There's some in the fridge"
"The hell you say to me punk?" Dad gets in my face
"Nothing I was just reminding you that there is still some in the fridge so you can save money" Wrong move Dean
"Save money? What you think we're poor?! Huh?? You think I can't provide for this family? The hell do you think you are telling me how to spend my money!" Frank hits me
"I will spend my money whenever I please you- you piece of shit" Frank kicks me.
I could beat him. Easily. But Casey's in the closet and I can't go back on the run. Or juvie... so I just take it. I can take it. I can always take it
Frank roughs me up a little more than slams my door and out the front door to the store. Piece of shit.
"It's safe Casey, you can come out now" I say still standing up. I can take it but it still hurts. I think he hit a rib this time
She runs up to me "Are you ok?"
"Yea. I'm good"
"Why did Dad do that to you?"
"Dad wants to make me nice and strong. Don't worry, I can take it" I smile at her, feeling the bruise on my cheek forming. Great. At work tomorrow I'll have a damn shiner. That'll make tips for sure
"Dad doesn't need too. You're already big and strong"
God how does such a wonderful kid come from crap like him?
"I know but it's ok. Let's get you a snack ok?"
I open my door with Casey on my hip. Sam is in the kitchen and sees my face
"Frank get you?"
"Yea"
"How bad?"
"Not a problem"
Rule #7 in the Portman household. After dad beats you and you say "Not a problem" you're obviously lying but the younger ones don't know that just yet.
A/N: Off to November we go! I just needed to get Dean a little more roughed up before we leave him alone for 4 months
