Chapter 5

Jieun's POV

fast forward to lunch break...

I was just in my the living room, chilling on the couch while my dad's fixing some papers, when I suddenly received a message from Gaeul.

Kim Gaeulie: Hey NiNi! Are you doing something right now?
Me: Umm.. no! Why?
Kim Gaeulie: Chaehyun couldn't accompany me today since she and her family will visit her grandmother. Can you accompany me to the mall? I just need to buy some extra binder paper for my binders and some highlighters.
Me: Sure! Count me in!
Kim Gaeulie: Thanks! I'll see you outside the entrance! By the way.. let's also eat lunch together!

"Dad, can I go to the mall? Gaeul asked me to accompany her and help her buy some important stuff for school.", I asked my dad.
"Yeah sure! You can also buy some stuff that you need for school. Do you have any enough money?", he asked me.
"Yup!", I said.
"Alright then!", he said.

I immediately went straight inside my room and changed into my casual clothes. I just wore a light blue crop tee and a pair of white jeans. After dressing up and applying perfume, I grabbed my bag with me and prepared to leave.

"I'll see you later dad!", I told my dad.
"Ok! Stay safe, sweetie!", he told me as I left.

After I left the condo, I immediately walked straight to the mall. And while I was walking, I immediately felt the cold breeze sway as it softly his my face and my hair, and then, the sun shone brightly. I like this feeling! I thought to myself as I slightly shivered because of the cold breeze. A few minutes later, I finally arrived at the mall, and there, I saw Gaeul, waiting outside the entrance.

"Gaeul!", I shouted as she turned to my direction.
"Hi NiNi! Thanks for coming with me today!", she said as she gave me a hug.
"Of course! Anything for my best friends!", I said.
"Too bad Chaehyun couldn't come! Shall we get going?", she said.
"Sure!", I said as we went inside the mall.

Gaeul's POV

a few hours later...

After we ate lunch together, Jieun and I immediately went to the department store to buy some important stuff needed for school.

"Can't believe it! It's been a few days since college life started, and now my highlighters and pens are already running out of ink!", I complained as Jieun chuckled.
"Don't use it too much, girl! Only use it to highlight main ideas!", she told me.
"Yeah! From now on, I'll only use it to highlight main ideas..", I said.
"By the, I'm also going to buy some important stuff for school, if that's fine with you?", she said.
"Of course you can! We both need it for school anyway!", I told her with reassurance.

Jieun and I immediately grabbed the things we needed, and then, we both went to the counter to immediately pay.

"By the way.. thanks for accompanying and helping me, Jieun!", I said as we left the department store.
"Of course! I also needed to buy stuff for school, so let me go with you!", she said.
"Wanna grab some coffee before we go home? My treat!", I said.
"Sure! Thanks Gaeul!", I said.

We both immediately went to this well known café beside the department store. I immediately fell in line to order while Jieun went to get a table for us. And while waiting in line, I suddenly received a text message from Chaehyun.

Kim ChaeChae: Hi Gaeul! Sorry I wasn't able to accompany you today! Did you ask Jieun instead?
Me: Yup! And it's ok! I understand, and I'm sure your grandma misses you a lot!
Kim ChaeChae: That's good to hear! By the way, what are you guys doing now?
Me: Grabbing some snacks and some coffee before going home.
Kim ChaeChae: I see! I'll just see you and Jieun tomorrow!
Me: Alright! Take care, Chae!
