Character Descriptions

Alex: Alex has a twin brother called Conner. Although their facial features are alike, like their strawberry blonde hair, they are extremely different. Alex loves school, but she is the odd one out. She doesn't have any friends apart from her brother. She suffered a lot since her father died, because he would always tell her stories to make her feel better when she felt alone.

Conner: Conner has a twin sister called Alex. Although their facial features are alike, like their strawberry blonde hair, they are extremely different. Conner hates school, because he finds himself dumb. Although he does have many friends, he often finds himself jealous of Alex's smartness. He suffered a lot since his father died, because he would always tell him stories to make him feel better when he felt dumb and jealous of Alex.

Personal Review

There was a LOT of detail. Although some of the detail could've been cut a bit shorter. Apart from that, it is an awesome book that I will read again and again!

Plot Summary:

Since their father died in a car crash, Conner, Alex and their mum's life has changed a lot. They had to sell their big beautiful house and move to a small apartment. Alex and Conner hardly see their mum, because she is often working. But on the twins' birthday, her mum can't manage to get the day off, so their Grandma comes to the rescue! She brings an old fairy tale book, called The Land of Stories. When the twins were little, their dad would read the fairy tales to them out of that book. Grandma gives the book to Alex and Conner to keep. But they find a hidden world in the book, and have to go on a tremendous adventure to get some things from around the land, to try and get back to home. But someone else is trying to find the ingredients to. Someone very, very EVIL...

I would recommend this book to anyone who's interested in a hilarious twisted fairy tale!
