Autumn walks up to the nursery stern faces as usual, she sees marjorie and reece kissing goodbye as reece drives off to his nursery.
"hello autumn" marjorie says happily
"hello" autumn replies
They both walk in and sit down starting their work for the day; marjorie had a meeting at 1pm just as autumn had lunch.
half 12 rolls around:
marjorie sets off saying goodbye to autumn as she leaves. Autumn sat there alone in the office surrounded by her thoughts, she felt as if they were eating her up and she had no escape from the pain she felt.
1pm:
she walks up to the staff room grabbing her lunch out the fridge whilst still drowning in her thoughts still. Carly walks in and a few seconds later charlotte follows.
"hiya aut" says charlotte enthusiastically hoping to start a conversation
"where did the nickname aut come from" autumn says not looking charlotte in her eyes.
"oh sorry did you not want us to call you it" charlotte says apologetically.
"no its fine" says autumn
Carly notices autumn seems off but doesn't question it.
autumns back in the office:
Tears roll down her face as she sits eating her sandwich staring at the old pictures of her and her mum. she hated her, no she didnt she loved her ever so much but she couldn't forgive the things she had done. Autumn turned off her phone and walked towards the bathrooms still crying, all she wanted was a big warm hug but she didnt know who to ask.
in the bathroom:
autumn looks in the mirror disgusted at what she sees, she hated the way she looked, carly walks out the bathroom stall behind her and autumn doesnt realise as shes too busy crying.
carly- "autumn why are you crying"
autumn- "fuck sake carly you scared me and im not"
carly- " yes you are autumn whats up"
autumn cant control her tears and she breaks down crying. carly doesnt know what to do so she slowly walks up to autumn.
carly- "can i give you a hug" she asked carful not to overstep boundaries but autumn doesnt respond instead she throws her arms around carly and sobs into her shoulder. charlotte walks in and sees the two hugging and carly whispering says its gonna be okay. Autumns legs are weak and she can barely walk charlotte rushes over and grabs one arm, carly still holding the other and they walk her to the office.
marjorie comes back:
as they are walking autumn to the office marjorie walks through the doors and sees them.
"omg autumn come here carly and charlotte get back to work please ill sort it" as soon as carly and charlotte let go autumn throws her arms around marjorie saying "i hate myself and i hate her" over and over.
marjorie- " awh darling come in the office and talk to me"
marjorie locks the door and sits next to autumn on the sofa, who lays her head on marjories chest and sobs.
marjorie- "my love whats going on"
autumn- "marjorie i cant do it i want my mum back i love her so much but i hate her and i hate myself ive been trying so hard to change but i cant cope"
marjories heart breaks and she looks down at autumns teary eyes and strokes autumns hair in effort to comfort her.
marjorie- "autumn my love you dont need to change nothing about yourself your perfect in every way possible"
"no no no" autumn says on repeat breaking marjories heart even more all she wanted to do was help her but she couldnt find the right words to say. She hugged her tightly and sat in silence stroking her hair still until autumn whispered "i want reece" marjorie took that as a sign to ring him and tell him to rush here asap.
ten minutes later:
reece arrives and marjorie lets him in the office, autumn stands up and hugs reece tightly. He holds her for about 15 minutes and then she whispers..
"i love you reece"
he steps back stunned he never hesrd autumn say that to him "i love you too aut" he manages to reply. autumn turns to marjorie who has tears in her eyes "marjorie" autumn says in her shaky voice. "yes?" marjorie asks, autumn walks over takes her hand and sits down with her on the sofa, She lays her head on marjories chest and hugs her. marjorie looks up at reece who just smiles and sits in the office chair.
"i- i love you" autumn whispers in marjories ear. shes taken aback by this autumn never said that to her. Marjorie silently starts crying tears of both happy and sad.
" i love you too my love" she manages to say and autumn looks up at marjorie , smiles and wipes the tears of her face.
