MAY 2ND 1994

The early morning sunlight streams through my bedroom window, casting a warm and gentle light upon the room brightening my room slowly,
causing me to stir and open my eyes slowly. I didn't want to get up and go to work and have to feel the feeling of driving.  I knew I was late since I forgot to set my alarm as it was 10:00 am and I was supposed to wake up at 7:00. As my eyes adjust to the morning light, I stretch lazily and got out of my bed and
I walked to the bathroom and did my normal morning routine. As I was straightening my hair I heard my phone buzzing and saw Tiffany calling. My best friend.
I really did love her (in a friendly way). She's been there for me ever since, I saw her as a sister to be exact and I'm sure she does too. I turned off my straightener and put it down on my vanity as I answered the phone and brought it up to my ear. "Hey Amber.." she says brightly in her normal raspy voice. A smile spread across my face as I heard my friend's voice on the other end. "Hey Tiff," I said, a mixture of excitement and tiredness. "You really decided to leave me all alone
with these weirdos?" She teased and chuckled a little at the last part, referring to how she hated literally everyone at the place we worked at. A library. It was a pretty easy job to be honest. though it was always quiet there and nothing really happened there, it was still boring and the other employees were annoying as well. Always acting like they own the whole place or something or just being absolutely rude as fuck. I laughed a little and rolled my eyes "Oh cmon! You know how I'm always late."  I said with a playful smile on my face. "Yeah yeah, we'll hurry!" Tiffany said also laughing slightly hanging up.

I was in my car driving to the library, I turned on some music on the radio and was slightly lip syncing to the songs. Once I reached there I parked my car and walked to the entrance. There was a little boy  in the kids section sitting on one of the bean bags seeming really interested in what he was reading. I smiled and then walked over to the front desk where I saw Tiffany sitting on the chair with her legs on the desk crossed, on her phone. I sat in the chair next her
and sighed. "Well at least it's not that busy today," Tiffany smirked and looked at me. "I guess. Makes it easier, huh?" She says shutting off her phone and holding it in her lap. I always loved me and Tiffany's friendship. We were opposites. She dressed more dark and wore more eyeliner while I always wore soft clothing and
light coloured things. Despite our opposite aesthetics we get along so well.

Tiffany's dark eyes fixed on my light brown ones, a hopeful expression on her face. "You should come to this party with me," she pleaded, a hint of excitement in her voice. "There's gonna be a band there." Her gaze was earnest, and her voice was soft as if she knew that I might initially decline her invitation. I was a little surprised that she'd ask me since I barely go to any parties or get into stuff like that. She leaned into my ear slightly and whispered  "And who knows, maybe you'll meet someone interesting." She teased and I pushed her off playfully as she laughed. "Oh shut up!" I said, rolling my eyes.

"I'll think about it."
