"Tanvay, is Iv- sir inside?" Adira asked. It had been two days since she last spoke with him, and she felt a void inside her.

"He's in a meeting," Tanvay replied, prompting her to roll her eyes; she knew it was just an excuse.

"You know what, move aside," she said, storming towards his office, leaving Tanvay shouting after her.

As soon as she reached the door, her eyes scanned the entire cabin until they settled on a sleepy figure on the couch. A smile spread across her lips upon seeing him, curled up like a child.

"How can anyone believe you're the CEO of Malhotra Marvels, Ivaan Malhotra, when you act like such a child? Ignoring me for two days and behaving so childishly," she remarked, her hand unconsciously moving to touch his hair before she pulled it back, feeling a strange emotion in her heart.

Suddenly, his eyes flickered open, and the first thing he saw was her- the sight he had been longing for. Disoriented from waking up, he thought he was imagining her sitting in front of him.

He took her hand and pulled her towards him. "Come lie next to me."

He adjusted her on the couch, and whispered in her ear, "You look marvelous. How I wish you were really here beside me, so we could cuddle in reality, but..." He sighed deeply, reminiscing about his feelings.

She was bewildered, trying to comprehend his words. She reached out and brushed his brow gently. "I am here."

With a smile like a madman, he turned towards her and embraced her tightly, holding her between his arms and pressing his chest against hers, kissing her cheek. "Yes, I'm assuming this is a dream."

Confusion furrowed her brow, and she lightly pinched his chest, making him yelp.

"I'm really here, and this isn't a dream, Ivaan. Wake up," she said, managing to extract herself from his embrace and standing stiffly in front of him.

Reality dawned on him, and he squinted at her. Unable to escape, he stood before her, scratching the back of his head. "Yes, what are you doing here?"

She scoffed, knowing his every facade. "Drop the act."

"Whatever," he muttered, turning away to avoid facing her, embarrassed and anticipating the questions to come.

As he turned away, he didn't hear a sound, hoping she had left. However, she made him face her by holding his arm and turning him back around.

He rudely snatched his arm away, leaving her mouth half open, and moved towards the window. Without looking back, he said, "Go away. I'm not in the mood for chit-chat or making you happy or giggle."

She felt hurt by his words. Were they only friends for time pass or nothing to him? Whatever it was, it wasn't fake.

"You think I only talk to you to pass the time?"

His silence only fueled her anger. She moved towards him, turned him to face her, and placed her arms on either side of him, trapping him between them.

His eyebrows arched at her action, and he said, "What? Are you trying to molest me now?"

"You have nothing worth molesting," she replied, every bit of his ego rising to the sky upon hearing her essentially call him useless.

"What do you mean by that?" He wasn't about to let her get away with that statement.
