Tour of the heart

Part 1: Begin the tour

" Guys " Serena said with a slight chuckle, while talking to her friends– Caroline Pick, Ava Vieira and Ria Walker– " It will never happen! "  she said as they walked into the airport.

They were going on an educational tour– run by their school– to the Netherlands.

Serena had a huge crush on a guy from their school, who happened to be going on the trip aswell, his name was Jodie Moody. She was captured by his fluffy, brown hair and his drowning brown eyes.

Whenever she looked at him, it was as if she was being suffocated by the gods of love.p

The trip would be 9 days, long enough for her to stare at his capturing smile.

She was sure he felt nothing for her. After all, she was just another girl in his life. Jodie was the kind of guy to like 5 girls at one time and then go on to date them all at the same time.

She felt sure that he didn't even pay her much mind, I mean, who is she to him? Just another person that he happens to know? Another person he feels obligated to talk to as to not hurt their feelings too?

' How shallow of me to think ' she thought to herself as the group was called to the meeting point to talk about baggage check and security.

After a while, they were on the plane. She was trying to find her seat and– " oh shit " she mumbled under her breath.  In the seat next to hers, sat Jodie.

Thank god he was looking away because by the time she realised her eyes and mouth were gaping wide open, a queue had formed behind her.

She quickly packed her stuff away before sitting down. ' how could this be happening right now?! ' she screamed in her head, trying not alert his bored gaze to her flushed, red face.

She'd finally calmed down, he looked over. " Oh, hey Serena. Sorry, I didn't notice you. " He said, looking into her eyes.

She took a while to answer, scared she'd say something wrong– " good, great, couldn't be better, I'm doing amazing! " and that's exactly what she did.

" shit, sorry, I mean, hey! " she said with a soft, awkward smile. " it's alright " He said, followed with a subtle laugh.

The flight was 10.5 hours long. A long time to sit next to the guy she's liked for years already.

Thoughts raced threw her mind, trying not to do something embarrassing.

After what one could only describe as hell in the air, they finally landed. She was so tired, she'd tried to sleep but she was worried she'd embarrass herself.
