Waking up with a sense of nausea, I groan as I held my hand to my head. I usually wake up like this, ever since the accident.
It was a hit and run, and was hospitalized for a week with head trauma.

After the sense of nausea went away I got out of bed and walked to the kitchen. Making coffee and putting bread in the toaster. After I eat my breakfast and finish my coffee, I shower and change. I rarely did anything to my face, but today I felt like a gold eye-shadow would be nice.

Putting my waist length hair into a top bun I grab my work bag, my purse and keys. I live in downtown Manhattan, in a condomanium of 30 floors. Living on the 21st floor gives me mixed feelings.

If the elevator doesn't work I'll have to walk down thousands of stairs each day, and if someone wants to sell things door to door, they'll have to bother the tenants on the lower floors, many get tired before reaching the 15th floor.

Well those are my thoughts at least. Walking into the elevator I didn't notice a man was with me as I pressed the lobby button. I hear a clearing of a throat then look behind me. I see a beautiful man, I was surprised on how this man had no flaws. He had a sharp jawline and black hair.

His eyes looked like two bottomless pits, his lips in a straight line, and he was dressed in a suit. He looked emotionless. Angry . Lonesome. I looked away once we made eye contact. It was the first time I've seen a man with such emotions. It made chills run down my spine, and not in a good way.

The elevator dinged signaling that he have reached the lobby. I turn my head slightly the catch another glance but I was shocked to see that no one was with me. "W-what? I could've sworn I saw a- Ahh never mind!" I say as I noticed I was going to be late for work.

Running to my car I got in and began driving to work. Running in five inch heels became easy as pie after two weeks working at my job. Being an assistant to the CEO of a company is the best job, I've work this hard and won't let anything stand in my way, not even a pair of heels.

I laugh at my thoughts as I pull up to the parking spot. Looking at my watch I see I have only four minutes till I was late. I have to be on the 30th floor in four minutes?!

I run as fast as I can. Making it to the elevator I press the 30 button and wait. I had three minutes to spare. During the entire elevator ride I kept track of my time, looking at my watch constantly. The door opened and I made my way to my office.

Dropping of my things then to check in with my boss. Being his assistant he told me to check in every morning before I clocked in to get my assignments and then do so. I fix myself as I get to the door and knock. "Come in" I hear a voice say. He sounds different today. Sick maybe?

I open the door then look to the person sitting in my boss seat. "What the-?" I say surprised. It was the same man from the elevator. "Hello. Ms...?" He says. His deep voice gives me the shivers.

I was scared of him and I didn't know why. I get myself together and answer. "Dancel sir. May I ask, where is Mr. Lopez?" I say formally looking in his eyes. That was the worst mistake I've made yet. His eyes made me feel so cold and alone.

"He was brought down a notch, I am his upgrade." He says emotionless. "I-I see." I say trying to end the conversation and leave. Clearing my throat, I turn to leave.

"Excuse me." I say as I touch the door knob. "Ms.Dancel, where do you think your going?" I hear him say. Gulping I turn around. "Yes sir?" I say softly. I don't understand.... Why am I so afraid?! Get yourself together Victoria! I look at his desk this time avoiding his cold eyes.

What in the world did I do to deserve this??????????? Lord help me. I yell in my head as I stand there. "Here." I hear my new boss say I look up and was shocked. He gave me an iPhone.

"Its the newest, I heard you don't own one of the latest so I did you a favor. My scheduled is in here, my number, and other important numbers. So make sure you don't lose this. Now you can leave." He says I take the phone from him, say my thanks and leave.

Why did he make a emphasis when he said "my number"? I shake off the thought as I look through his schedule. Looks like he's free till 12:50pm. Being an assistant I will have to get to know him.

And become a something like a friend so he can be comfortable with me being his assistant. One thing is clear. I'm going to regret this later.
