Nayantara's POV
Stepping down from the palanquin, I beheld the stunning scenery unfolding before my eyes. The early morning sun was rising slowly, painting the sky with a soft orange glow. The birds' cheerful chirping and the soothing sound of the nearby river created a delightful atmosphere.
I gazed at the grand temple of lord shiva. It was my customary practice to visit here every Monday to pay homage to lord shiva. Today I arrived with jiji. As I observed my surroundings, I noticed women and young girls arriving to worship in the early hours of the morning.
"Let's go Nayantara."
I looked towards jiji and nodded my head, walking towards the temple. As we came near the stairs, we touched the first stair and took the blessing then moved ahead. As we came inside the temple, the common people stood aside giving us the privacy to do the pooja first. I looked at the priest preparing for the pooja.
As we were done doing the pooja. The preist gave us prasad and tied a red thread around our wrist. After that I and jiji both moved towards the exit of the temple when the priest stopped me.
"Rukiye rajkumari."
{"Wait princess."}
I turned around and looked at him, he came near me and forwarded a red coloured thick thread which had few rudraksha around it. I frowned and looked at him.
"Yeh rakshakavach hai rajkumari, aap yeh jis kisi ki bhi kalai par baandh degi uss par aane wali saari musibatein tal jayegi. Khud mahakaal ka vardhaan hai isme, rakh lijiye aapke kaam ayega."
{"This is a protection band princess, If you tie this on anyone's wrist, all of his troubles will be averted. This is a blessing from Mahakaal himself, keep it, it will be useful to you."}
He said, I looked at jiji she smiled and nodded at me signalling me to take it. I forwarded my hand and took the rakshakavach.
"Dhanyawad."
{"Thank you."}
I thanked him and moved out of the temple. I put the band inside the small bag attached to my skirt. As we came down I looked at a line of poor people waiting for the blankets and sweets which we gave them every monday.
I looked towards some attendees coming with the huge bags of blankets and sweets. Me and jiji both indulged ourselves with distributing those things. I was in the middle of distributing sweets, when I felt a tug on my lehanga. I looked down at the small boy of around five year old forwarding his hands towards me. I smiled and gave him a box of sweets but he shook his head in denial and opened his fist which had a paper. I frowned and looked at him. I again looked at the paper and took it from his hands.
I opened it and started reading its content, my heartbeat raced as I finished reading it. I looked around to find out the person who could send me this. I again looked at the paper, my hands trembling with the fear. I gazed down to find no one. Where was the small boy? I roamed my eyes here and there but there was no sign of that boy.
At a distance I saw some children playing, and immediately I went towards them. I looked at every kid but the small boy was not there.
"Nayantara."
I instantly folded the paper and put it inside my small bag before turning around. I looked towards jiji coming in my direction.
"What are you doing here?"
