he feeling when your heart says one thing and your mind says another is a complete mess. if you've followed your heart and ended up with nothing but pain, the chance for your mind to win increases.
that's what happened-jeonguk's mind won, and his heart lost.
the moment he uttered "i hate you," he knew he had lost everything once again. his mind had triumphed; he had ignored taehyung's heartfelt words and confession and had successfully pushed the boy away from him. he should be happy, right?
after all, this is what taehyung had done to him-used him and discarded him like trash.
but he wasn't happy.
his tears hadn't stopped since he heard taehyung's scream of pain. despite this, he couldn't let taehyung back into his life to destroy it further. so, he did what his mind dictated-he pushed taehyung away.
a selfish person like taehyung would leave immediately after being pushed away, so why was taehyung still standing under the heavy rain for the past half hour?
why are you doing this, tae? jeongguk thought about going outside, pulling the boy into his embrace, and keeping him close forever, but not after taehyung had used him.
the word "used" was the reason jeongguk's mind had won over his heart.
the rain pattered softly against the window, creating a melancholic rhythm throughout the room. the gray clouds hung heavily in the sky, mirroring the somber mood within. jeongguk stood by the window, watching as droplets raced down the glass, blurring the outside world. each raindrop seemed to echo his internal turmoil, reflecting the sadness weighing on his heart as he watched taehyung's trembling figure outside.
his mind scoffed at him, so he sighed and moved toward his bed, exhausted from sleepless nights. the reason for his insomnia stood outside his apartment.
he didn't even realize when his eyes closed from sheer tiredness, and he fell asleep.
under the heavy downpour, each raindrop mirrored taehyung's heartache. taehyung stood outside jeongguk's apartment building, unable to bring himself to leave. standing alone on the deserted street corner, he stared into the distance, waiting for a familiar figure that never appeared.
the cold rain soaked through his clothes, mirroring the emptiness and despair that engulfed him. memories of happier times together played in his mind, now tainted by the bitter sting of separation. the sound of raindrops hitting the pavement became a melancholic soundtrack to his solitude, underscoring the loneliness of waiting for someone who loathed him.
