For over 200 years, I lived on Earth as a vampire. I built the city of Scranton from the ground up, traveled and lived abroad as I trained under Master Vampires, and returned to Scranton to become my own Master. Suddenly, without warning, I awoke in a different realm with no knowledge or memory of how I got there.

Eventually, I would learn that thee Ville Valo was among the top three most powerful demon lords and had been moonlighting as a musician on Earth. His method of traveling the realms occasionally left behind rifts. I was unfortunate enough to stumble through one of these rifts, but I wasn't the only one. Well before I found Ville, I found two humans from Earth: Ryan and Kuza. Our individual journeys to understand this world had all converged on Ricky; a demon lord that Ville himself had trained, and more importantly, an dark angel that had captured my heart.

Ricky and I made plenty of memories and mistakes together. By the time I'd learned I could get back to Earth, I didn't have any desire to leave. Once I'd finally settled into my new life, his enemies dragged him away from me, and the only way I could save him was to become a demon lord myself. Admittedly, I haven't done much with these powers since, but I never wanted them in the first place.

Ville was one of the very few who even knew of Earth, and his knowing was a fluke—Or so we thought. In the process of becoming a demon lord, I met a real demon named Asher. Through him, a whole new world opened to me. The other half of the planet knew of vampires and Earth, but coveted themselves and their information in the form of closed borders.

I wasn't the only vampire in Valavana, but it became apparently to me quickly that chasing after that mystery would only bring harm to my family. So, I left it be. The problem was it wouldn't be content to let me be. An ex-communicated light elf by the name of Christian Tesla tricked me into a trap. Asher, in trying to save himself from the same trap, would lose his freedom once again. Uncharacteristically, he offered up information about me to his captors in an attempt to save me. Eventually, I'd be rescued by another vampire, one who was very begrudgingly associated with Asher's captors.

As a result of that 'rescue', I'd meet the very first vampire I'd ever known, outside of my own sire, with the same strand of venom. I'd be brought into those closed boarders I tried so hard to avoid, taken further from my family, and thrown into the heat of a vampire-demon race war.

A few housekeeper notes: This story will be reimagining many of Crow/Qrow's plot points in the The Return universe, but if you haven't read both series, or even if you haven't read either, this book should be plenty accessible to you. There's gonna be a lot of OCs in this, but little to none you'd be unfamiliar with if you've read my stuff before. I'm also going to be making chapters much much longer, meaning they may come out slower, but you'll have to deal with fewer ads when reading.

I will also be backing up this story on AO3, as WP has been very strange these days. I prefer WP's interface and this is where my MIW reader-base is, but I never know when WP policies will strike me down.

Thank you all for your continued love and support <3 I'm always happy to discuss my stories with people. DMs are gone on WP now, but please feel free to talk to me on other socials. My twitter is tokyohysteria, IG and AO3 are nonahysteria
