A/n: A moment of appreciation for the Illustrious L2D, because DAMN, the devs had no right to create something so peak.

Genuinely had most of the fandom acting up when it was released.

Other than that, my luck has not been good for this banner. The only pull I've managed is Z47 and I've gotten her twice now. I did also get Z43 from the academy thing, but no Alvitr or U-31 yet. :(

"Well...we managed to find a fleet..." You said, looking through your binoculars at a large gathering of ships in the distance.

"However, that is most definitely not ours." You continued, spotting the markings of the Sakura Empire on one of the bigger carriers.

Thankfully for the moment, you were hidden and had a decent view of the waters around you. The Sakura Empire fleet was massed together with a bunch of mass produced siren ships, all of which seemed to be inactive.

"They seem to be staying put. And as for the siren ships, they seem to be out of action right now." You said, taking the binoculars away from your eyes.

"What is our next move, master?" Belfast asked, keeping her eyes on the waters around you, ensuring the two of you would not be ambushed.

"Our objective has not changed. We only stumbled upon their fleet be chance. All we need to do is make sure they don't see us." You said, making your way back inside.

Setting off as carefully as you could, you went back to navigating the icy waters of the mirror sea. It was very easy to get lost since the navigation on your boat was not working properly.

With there of course being no map of the area and the fact that a compass was fairly ineffective, you were merely basing everything on observation.

"Master. I believe I have spotted someone." Belfast finally said after a little while of seemingly going in circles.

"You have? And they're on our side right?" You asked.

"Yes. It's Javelin and Laffey. And I think they're in a spot of bother." She said.

As if on cue, you could hear the sound of explosions and a little bit of screaming. You immediately pushed the throttle all the way forwards, knowing that your assistance was required.

"Belfast! Get out there and help them! I'm right behind you!" You said.

The maid did not need to be told twice, and you heard the sound of her leaping off the side of your boat and into the water. She accelerated away in front of you to get to Javelin and Laffey quicker.

Meanwhile, the two destroyers were fighting with some of their Sakura Empire counterparts. A group of destroyers, Yukikaze, Shigure and Yuudachi had come to 'save' Ayanami from them.

Despite not wanting to fight them, Javelin and Laffey were still being fired at, needing to dodge as they refused to retaliate.

"You really think we're buying into all that?!" Yukikaze exclaimed as she fired a barrage of torpedoes at them, covering for Shigure who made a dash for Ayanami.

"Why are you just standing there staring off into the ocean?! Let's go!!" She said, grabbing hold of Ayanami's hand and starting to drag her away.

Ayanami was still clearly conflicted, and seemed like she didn't want to fight Javelin and Laffey either. Her friends dragged her away before she could make any decisions though.

"Looks like we'll have to settle this another time! Don't expect us to go easy on you!!!" Yuudachi yelled as she backed off, firing more torpedoes to cover their escape.
