The heroes were sitting around their meeting table looking upon the pieces of the Batman's armor that was left at the hospital, it pained them to say the least.
Not only had Batman done a good portion of their work for them, but when he was injured in doing so he had gotten away without them giving a single sign of thanks or even got to question the now dubbed 'Dark Knight' from the Gotham media channels.
Each of them had watched the video of the chapel incident and saw how the news had put up the image of the Batman perched on the tower looking like a mystical guardian of the city.
They also saw how the people reacted from seeing the Batman in all his glory for the first time, the mystified looks, the chatter of how brave or incredible he was could be seen throughout the city.
In short the group currently sitting at the meeting were a little embarrassed, they didn't help or do anything of noteworthiness and now felt like they weren't doing their job properly.
Kendo was one of them, she was the leader and one in charge and yet she wasn't doing the best job of going about it and instead was doing 'okay' at the very least.
She couldn't help the sigh leaving her lips as she mulled it all over, but after a few moments she realized she couldn't dwell on it long due to the seriousness of the situation, she turned to Shinso and his partner Kiyori.
Noting how tired they both seemed to be, not only from the earlier incident but also how they had to deal with the situation the night before with the mayor's death, she couldn't blame them for being tired after dealing with all of that in two days.
Kendo herself felt drained, she had many responsibilities as the leader of the hero group and even with Momo and Iida to help it was still a lot to do.
But they didn't have time to dwell on the past mistakes or on how they currently felt, she needed to address the elephant in the room.
"Shinso, any word or sightings of the Batman or the riddler?"
The detective shook his head "Not at all, it's like he just up and disappeared the second he entered that smoke. Sorta think Lizardy is right about him being able to teleport, and on the Riddler we got nothing, not even a person matching his description while masked."
Upon hearing this Kendo rested her chin in her palm and spoke after thinking over her words "We need to secure Penguin like planned, once that's done we target Riddler."
Snorting the small form of Mineta retorted "And how exactly are we going to do that, sorry but it seems like every time we plan something it's gone horribly wrong or something else drags us away from it."
No one could really deny the short teen's words, but nevertheless Kendo responded "As much as it pains me to say this, you're right. Things haven't gone our way, but when have they ever? The training camp? The USJ? Hell even the provisional license exam was against us, so why start complaining and second guessing ourselves now?"
She sat up straight and looked over the group with a serious no nonsense tone in her voice "We've gone through adversity before, we've been pushed against the wall over and over, but have we ever given up? No, we haven't and it sure as hell won't start now."
Her words lifted the spirits of her classmates, even though Ibara glared at the word 'hell' being used she too was inspired and her glare shifted into a smiled at her leader and friend.
"She's right, we can't give up. We need to work together and push through this to win the exam." Spoke Shoto Todoroki.
The next to speak was Kyoka Jiro as she turned to their leader "So what's the plan then boss lady?"
