She sat on my torso now, her legs wrapped around me, and I felt the heat of her body through our clothes.
As Meher pushed herself up, the sudden loss of her warmth made me instinctively frown, my palms still stinging with the memory of her skin against mine.
So... soft.
She looked down at me, a glint of amusement in her eyes. I attempted a wry smile in return, even though my thoughts swirled with the sensation of her legs wrapped over my torso.
I looked up at her, taking in the glint of amused in her eyes, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of regret as she moved away from me.
God if she actually straddled me...
Meher's soft voice interrupted my thoughts. "It seems we'll need a place to sleep tonight." She said in a wry tone.
As she spoke of our need for a place to stay the night, my mind began to wander back to the feel of her body against mine, the way her legs had straddled my torso, and I felt a pang of desire settle deep within me.
I took a steadying breath, trying to gather my fraying composure. That was close. Too close. It had stirred emotions I wasn't prepared to face.
"Okay, so now what?" Meher asked, glancing around at the ruined bedframe.
"You take the couch," I replied, gesturing toward the couch sitting in the other of the room. The soft fabric would provide more comfort than rubble-strewn floorboards.
"What about you?" Her brow creased with worry, and it took all my will not to lose myself in her concern.
I sighed. "I'll find another room." Distance was needed, if only for the night, until I could tame the chaotic storm inside.
Meher hesitated, as if to protest. But she must have sensed my tangled state of mind, so no argument came. With a small nod of understanding, she turned towards the doorway.
I watched her go, remorse filling me for causing her distress. But this seemed wisest, for both our sakes, until I regained clarity of thought.
Once she was gone, I dragged a hand down my face and leaned against the wall for support.
Focus, Aarav. Focus. You might have done the deed with her already, so there's nothing new to see here.
But god, I literally remember her every single thing from that night. The memory of that one night in Vegas with her was like a fire burning through my veins, her every kiss, scratch, and bite a vivid, scorching memory. I clenched my fists, trying to force my thoughts back into order, but they continued to race, consumed by the memory of her body against mine.
I stayed there for a long moment, leaning against the wall and trying to force my thoughts into order. But the memory of her body against mine, the feel of her skin, the way her lips had whispered against mine... it was all too fresh in my mind to be ignored.
Eventually, I let out a shuddering breath and pushed myself away from the wall, forcing myself to move forward. The thought of being away from her sent a pang of regret through my chest.
All I knew that distance was for the best, at least for now, but the thought of being away from her made the room seem suddenly cold and empty.
