24. The Commander

Bellamy and I went back to Camp Jaha to get Clarkes help.

I climb up first and see Lincoln still tied up. Clarke jumps up when he lunges at us.
"Can you help him?" Octavia asks.
"I don't know." She mutters as she steps closer. "I knew Mount Weather controlled reapers but I didn't know they created them."
"If they can do that to Lincoln what are they doing to our friends?" Bellamy asks. I don't even want to think about that.

Lincoln starts convulsing.
"What does that mean?" Octavia asks.
"What happened to his leg?"
"I shot him." Octavia answers.
"Can you shine the light on his neck?" She asks and we do. "Needle marks."
"They're drugging them?" I ask pushing my brows together. That would explain the change in behavior.
"Maybe."

Lincoln gets an arm free and starts attacking Clarke, Octavia runs in and gets thrown. Bellamy starts trying to get him to let go of Clarke but gets thrown back too. Lincoln jumps at me and starts crawling on the floor, his feet still being chained.
"Stay back!" Bellamy yells to me as he grabs the shock baton. He runs to Lincoln but gets grabs and dropped. Lincoln begins punching Bellamy.

Clarke tries to step in but gets pushed back. I step forward and feel him hit my side. I use my foot to kick the shock baton to me and grab it. I hit the back of his neck with it and he falls to the ground.

"We need to tie him up on the floor." I say as I step back from him. We get stuff around the dropship and completely tie him down.

Clarke goes to work on getting the bullet out, while Octavia goes to get Lincoln more water.

Octavia comes back with a grounder. Bellamy and I both run to our guns.
"He's Lincoln's friend and their healer." Octavia says standing infront of him.

Lincoln starts seizing as I drop my gun letting the grounder go to his side.

He grabs a vial lifting it up.
"What is that?" I ask.
"Yu gonplei ste odon." He says to Lincoln in Trigedasleng. I have no idea what the means.

He goes to drop it into his mouth and Clarke stops it.
"Wait!" She yells. I relift my gun knowing something's wrong.
"Back off, right now." Bellamy says.
"That's what they say before death. He's not trying to heal him. He's trying to kill him." Clarke says.
"Nyko." Octavia says. "Is it true?"
"Yes. Death is the only way."
"There could be a way to bring him back." Clarke says.
"None that I've ever seen."

"We have to go, the camps leaving." Finn says running in.
"You!" Nyko says before lunging at Finn. He pins him to the wall.
"Move!" Bellamy yells to Octavia who is standing infront of his gun.

I walk up behind him and put my knife to his neck.
"Let him go, or I slit your throat right here." I say through my teeth.
"Blood must have blood." He says. I press my knife in deeper drawing blood.
"Do you wanna live?" I ask. I might dislike Finn but he's still one of us. He's not going to be killed infront of me.

He lets go of Finn and I don't remove the knife until Finn has left. Nyko turns to look at me.

"Lincoln?" Octavia says running to his side. I turn and see he's stopped moving. "He's not breathing." Clarke reaches for his pulse.
"His heart stopped. Move." She says.

She starts pressing on his chest and he starts breathing again.

"He was dead. How did you do that?" Nyko asks.
"You've tried bringing reapers back?" I ask. He nods. "And they died like this?" He nods again.
