Standing outside at night, Eda sought solace in the quiet darkness to calm her nerves after a long and stressful week at work. However, her moment of peace was shattered when she saw Ryan approaching her. As he got closer, his presence felt suffocating as he practically pinned Eda against the door of her house. The sudden contact left Eda feeling extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable. The dimly lit surroundings accentuated the tension between them as they stood face-to-face on that chilly evening. Despite trying to maintain composure, Eda's heart raced with anxiety upon seeing Ryan so unexpectedly close to her. With a fight or flight insict, eda very harshly striked him across his cheek with the palm of her hand. Making his stumble down with a meek whimper of pain. "Ryan what the fuck is wrong with you?!" She finally yelled, her voice seemingly on the breaking point.
Ryan look back up, holding the new red mark that starting to sting. "Why'd you hit me?! I was trying to be romantic" he argued, only seeing annoyance in her gaze. "You stupid, pathetic excuse for a man. I'm in a relationship!" Eda yelled, and pulled out her cell phone. "What are you doing?" He asked. "I'm calling the fucking police, your trespassing!" Eda shot back. "What?! No don't do that" Ryan pleaded, a tone of voice she'd never heard from him. It was startling.
"I-im sorry okay? I just.. I really just wanted to ask you something" he sighed. Stupidly, eda put her phone away, and folded her arms. "I-i just.. I wanted to say that I'm sorry, and.. I want to try to be a better boyfriend.. And father"
The words just said shook eda to her core, but more than ever, she felt annoyed. "Get out of my face Ryan" she scowled, only to be pulled back by him. "What's wrong with you?! I'm trying here" he pleaded with her. "You.. Really don't get it"
She finally muttered. "Get what?! Why are you so stubborn?" Ryan asked nievly. "You..left me Ryan" she said, the memories flooding her head. "You left me when I needed you most.. And even worse.. When I gave you another chance to be apart of my daughters life.." Her mouth refused to speak any longer, ad slowly tears threatened to escape. "You insulted me.. You broke me, why would I ever let you get close to me?" She asked him. His horrified face bringing forth no empathy. "Eda.. I-im sorry" he whispered.
"If your really better.. Like you say you are. You'll leave me alone" eda said, slowly walking inside her house, and locking the door.
The house was dark, and Rapsody was in bed. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep for a while so she went to check on her daughter.
She smiled ever so slightly, knowing Rapsody was safe with her.
As Eda navigated through the dark room, her fingers brushed against various toys scattered on the floor. Each toy she picked up triggered memories of Raine's laughter and innocent joy. However, amidst these bittersweet recollections was a shadow from the past Ryan. The painful memories of their tumultuous relationship years ago resurfaced as vividly as if they had just happened yesterday.
Despite trying to focus on tidying up her daughter's belongings, Eda found herself lost in thoughts about how things could have been different with Ryan. She remembered all too well the arguments that seemed never-ending and left scars deep within her heart. As she carefully organized each toy into its place, tears welled up in her eyes at the realization that some wounds may never fully heal.
Exhausted both physically and emotionally, Eda finally finished cleaning up before heading to bed alone once again. In those quiet moments before sleep took over, she couldn't help but wish for Raine's presence beside her a reminder of pure love untouched by pain or regret.
Sorry this is short.. I sprained my ankle after almost being run over
