A common theory is that Mangle is possessed by a dead dog but I believe that may not be the case. Personally I think Mangle is possessed by one of the dead SAVETHEM kids and there's enough evidence to back up my claim. If you also go back to the games and how Mangle moves you tend to see that she's very intelligent compared to some of the other characters. If she were possessed by a dog she wouldn't be near as intelligent. To be fair, I want to point out that there's a chance Mangle is possessed by two souls. The main animatronic which of course is the fox is possessed by a child. We do see that there's an endo head attached to Mangle which almost seems to act like a dog. So to conclude my theory, Mangle herself (or Toy Foxy), is possessed by a child and the endo head is possessed by a dog.
