25. Collins

Everyone circles around us once we arrive.
"Is there a chance for a truce?" Abby asks turning to me.
"Yes." I answer unable to look up at anyone.
"What's wrong?" Finn asks Clarke causing me to wince.
"They want you." She says sadly.

"Finn's death starts a truce." I explain quietly.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Raven asks her concern coming through her tone.
"That's their offer."
"It's punishment for what happened at the village. Blood for blood." Finn says.
"That's insane." Bellamy speaks up.

I hear people start saying to give him up, while some start trying to grab him. Raven punches a man causing herself to be taken.

Finn walks away once everyone's calmed down and we go find him.

He's sitting with Murphy. I find it sort of fitting.
"Hey." Bellamy says. "We're reinforcing all our defenses. Doubles on the perimeter. No ones getting past that wire."
"I'll see where they're thin." Finn says standing up.
"No. You should head inside." I say truly surprised that he's this careless. They can't see him.
"I'm not gonna hide." He says courageously.

"Right now, we have to think about keeping you safe. I'm going to talk to Lincoln." Clarke says.
"Come on. Get inside." I say to him.

Bellamy and I walk him in.
"Look Finn, we're not gonna let them kill you. Just stay out of sight." I say. He nods and Bellamy and I go back outside.

"It's late, you should get some rest." Bellamy says to me.
"I don't trust our guards to watch the gate. I can't sleep if there are grounders outside." I say glancing up to see our guards. He puts a gentle hand on my shoulder.
"Nov, I know you want to take care of him. I do too. But you haven't slept in days."
"Neither have you." I respond defensively.
"I'll sleep once the grounders are gone."
"And I'll sleep once you do."

"You're not going another night without rest." He says.
"Then come with me." I say hopeful. Bellamy sighs.
"Fine."

We walk to our tent which we've spent barely any time in and lay down. I lean into Bellamy letting every worry I've had the last few days completely disappear in his arms.
"We're gonna be okay." He whispers into my hair kissing the top of my head. I smile softly as I close my eyes.

We get awoken by the grounders chanting. We run out lifting our guns. Somethings happening.
"They're trying to scare us." Bellamy says to us all.

I see Abby start walking towards the gate and we follow. I grip onto my gun tighter than ever.
"Open the gate." She says and they do.
"Where's the boy?" The grounder asks her.
"We're not giving him up. We're ready to fight, if that's what it comes to."

A horn blows and both of them ride off.

"Watch the woods!" I yell. All the guards turn to look into the trees.

"Don't shoot!" Kane yells walking over. Him and Abby start talking and we step forward.
"You can't be out in the open. We need to get someplace safe." Bellamy tells him.
"It's safe for the moment. I bought us some time. We need to talk." He says turning to Abby. 

Bellamy and I wait outside the door with Raven and she's taking a while. I start to worry more as the minutes go by.

Once she walks out we start asking her many questions.
"We're all trying to find a way out of this." Is all she tells us before walking away.
"They're gonna give him up." Bellamy says.
"We won't let them." I say looking at Raven as her face becomes angry.
