Chapter 7

Jieun's POV

The moment I arrived in the classroom, one thing that immediately caught my attention was how Jay was in his seat already. That's strange! He usually arrives later than I am! I thought to myself.

"Hey..", I said, giving him a small curved smile as I sat on my chair.
"You'll go to my house later, right?", he asked me, trying to make sure.
"Mhm! I asked permission from my dad, and he allowed me to go! But..", I said.
"But what?", he asked.
"He wants to meet you..", I said.
"Re—Really? Why?", he nervously asked me.
"I.. I don't know? He just told me last night that he wants to meet you today..", I said.
"That's it?", he said.
"Mhm..", I hummed in response.
"Is he mad at me?", he asked.
"Well.. I guess you'll find out later..", I told him.
"Come on! Just tell me! You're making me scared!", he said as I just chuckled.
"Don't worry, he's not mad nor disappointed. He just.. wants to have a cup of coffee with you, I guess?", I said.

I guess you weren't that bad after all.. I think? And I hope you'll prove me wrong that you're changing already, Park Jay! I thought to myself.

"And by the way.. is it ok to your parents that you have a visitor?", I asked him.
"I'm at the house by myself. My dad's out of the country as of now for work..", he said.
"I see..", I said.

That's strange! He didn't mention his mom. I wonder why? I thought to myself. A few minutes later, our professor immediately came inside and reminded us to continue doing our project, so I immediately took out my laptop to proceed.

"You added more to the research problem?", I asked him as I opened the word file.
"Mhm! I wanna ask your opinion about it like.. is it ok to you already? Do I need to change it? Or does it need to be more concise?", he asked me.
"Well.. to be fair it's not bad. And I like how you added examples to it..", I told him.
"So.. that's ok to you already? No need to add more?", he asked.
"Mhm! It's good! Now we'll deal with the thesis statement and conclusion later on..", I told him.

I still see you as my bully but I need to get to know you more. Who are you really, Park Jay? I thought to myself.

"Umm.. Jieun...", he suddenly said.
"Yes?", I asked him.
"I know I put you in a tough situation but.. will it be ok if I could use this opportunity to redeem myself to you?", he suddenly asked me.
"Umm.. sure, I guess?", I said, unsure of my answer.
"I guess I'm now one step closer to becoming your friend..", he said with a smile.
"Just.. don't play with my feelings and don't fake your kindness towards me, Park Jay!", I told him.
"Me, playing with your feelings and acting all fake to you? There's no way I'll do that to you..", he said as I sensed the sincerity in his voice.

His smile is so attractive! I thought to myself as I couldn't help but adore him when he showed me his smile that his eyes almost cannot be seen. It's my first time seeing him smile!

"I know I'm handsome but.. can you stop staring? You might fall for me later on if you continued staring..", he said with a smirk.
"I'm not staring!", I said in protest.
"Say whatever you want to say, Ms. Hwang..", he said with a chuckle.
"Why would I stare at you?!", I said.
"Well.. I caught you that's why!", he said.
"Whatever! Let's just continue on the project, Jay!", I said.

Jay's POV

a few hours later...

"Someone's in a good mood today!", Heeseung hyung told me as he and Sunghoon joined me and Jake on our dining table in the cafeteria for lunch.
"Someone's probably making him smile!", Sunghoon said as he started teasing me.
"Well yeah! There is someone making him smile..", Jake said as he laughed.
"Hey shut up!", I said.
"What?! I'm just enjoying as an audience whenever I see you and Jieun, now on the process of getting to know each other as friends!", he said.
"Oh! Mr. Park's making a move, I see..", Heeseung hyung said.
"Well, I'm now trying but.. I feel like she's gonna reject me, 'cause who would fall for someone like me?", I said.
"Dude, there's nothing wrong with trying your best to gain her trust! Who knows.. when you slowly change for the better, maybe she'll realize that there's more to you than just a bully..", Jake told me.
"You better start making your move now, 'cause I overheard Jisung a while ago, talking to his friends about trying to get Jieun back in a relationship with him again with bad intentions...", Sunghoon said.
