Yunara woke up to the harsh symphony of her alarm clock, its shrill tone jolting her out of her groggy state. With a groan, she sluggishly opened her eyes and stretched, feeling every bit as heavy as a rock. She glanced at the time, a surge of resentment coursing through her at the realization that it was already time to start her day. The thought of dragging herself out of bed and facing the demands of the day weighed heavily on her mind, and for a brief moment, she considered the blissful prospect of simply staying beneath the cozy confines of her blankets. It would be the first day of school, she had enrolled in UA High School in Japan and she was now a student in 2-A
She reluctantly dragged herself out of bed, still drowsy from a restless night's sleep. She stumbled into the bathroom, barely registering her bleary reflection in the mirror. The cool water from the tap was a welcome jolt, washing away the last remnants of sleepiness as she splashed her face, the refreshing sensation invigorating her senses. With the mundane routine of brushing her teeth and pulling on her uniform, a sense of resignation settled over her. Each movement felt like a chore, a necessary but unwanted task. The weight of the day ahead hung over her like a dark cloud, dulling her usually vibrant spirit.
She moved through the motions of her morning routine on autopilot. Brushing her hair, carefully applying a touch of makeup, the motions familiar and almost comforting in their repetition. The monotony of it all lulled her into a half-awake reverie, her thoughts wandering. However, the peaceful moment was shattered as the door to her room was abruptly opened, jolting her back to reality. Startled, she turned to see her father standing in the doorway, a stern expression on his face.
"You're running late," he said gruffly, his irritation evident in his tone.
She tensed, her shoulders rising slightly as she quickly packed her backpack, the sudden intrusion leaving her feeling defensive. "I'm almost ready," she retorted, her voice betraying her annoyance. Her fingers fumbled with the zipper, the simple task suddenly becoming more challenging.
"Almost isn't good enough," her father replied, his voice laced with a familiar blend of frustration and disappointment. "You know we have to leave at a specific time, and you're always cutting it close."
"Yuna, you have to be there for only 2 weeks! That's it! Grow the hell up! I'm sick of your attitude." Phantom yelled at Yuna as she was putting on her new UA uniform jacket. She had complained all morning about going to UA and had tried to find every reason in the book to not go but her father wouldn't change his mind. "She's acting like a self-hold brat because I'm trying to make her the best." He yelled at Yuna's mom as she slapped her forehead.
Yunara rolled her eyes as her father continued to berate her. "I don't see why I have to go. I'm perfectly fine where I am." She retorted, fiddling with the buttons of her new UA uniform.
Her mother sighed and shook her head, clearly exasperated with her daughter's attitude. "Yunara, you know your father only wants the best for you. Going to UA for two weeks is not the end of the world."
"He wants you to be the best and-" Her mother, Yuri continued and before she could finish, Yazaki (Phantom) cut her off."NO I EXPECT IT!" He yelled as he slammed the wardrobe's door closed. "Well, uh-...yeah he expects it and remember we came here for opportunities and chances for you, you have all the attention and spotlight-" Her mother continued her yapping and Yazaki cut her off again. "You know what Yuri? I have a lot of other internships right now on deck that can steal her (*points at Yunara*) spotlight in an instant. YOU MAKE CHOICES EVERY DAY! MAKE THE RIGHT ONES!" He yelled and left the mansion to head to Endeavour's company.
Yunara's shoulders slumped as her father stormed out of the room, slamming the wardrobe door shut.
She sighed and turned to her mother, who was still rambling on about opportunities and spotlight. Yunara rolled her eyes again, growing more and more annoyed by the minute.
