Working for an undercover agency certainly wasn't what they were expecting to pursue in their life. Hell, if asked what job they wanted to achieve ten years ago, an undercover agency certainly wouldn't have crossed their mind.It was inevitable, some might say. Fate had them trapped between its ignorant fingers, tossing them into this field of work in order to find justice. Not just for them, but for their beloved family too.
Just five years ago, a poor soul who went by the name of Y/N, walked straight into fate's trap. They had no choice but to watch, being held down against their will, as their dearest family were mercilessly killed before their very eyes. Blinded by pure rage and malice, they desired to get their revenge - defending their family as they did so. And so, that is how the Hidden Agency was formed.
As Y/N stepped foot into the dim building (where the agency itself was located, as to not raise suspicion) they were greeted by a fair lady, blonde hair tied into a neat bun. She smiled warmly at Y/N, quickly approaching her as she slid the jacket off of their shoulders.
"I didn't think that you were going to be coming in today." Chuckled the lady with a quick shake of her head. She slung the jacket that Y/N was previously wearing over her shoulder as the pair begun to walk side by side.
"Hm... Neither did I, Lumine." They sighed to their secretary in response. "However, I have some work that I'd like completed... Is your brother around anywhere?"
Lumine nodded, hanging Y/N's jacket up onto a hook that was drilled into the wall.
"He is... Unfortunately," She muttered, "He has been pestering me all morning."
"Well, when does he not?" Y/N answered with a chuckle. "Where exactly is he?"
"In the weaponry room, browsing." Replied Lumine. "Would you like anything in the meantime?"
Y/N shook their head. "No, that should be all. Thank you, Lumine."
Lumine watched as Y/N made their way towards the agency lift in meaningful strides. They entered the lift before pressing the button that led to the lowest level of the building; this being where the agency cars were kept, where shooting ranges were and where a multitude of weapons were locked away.
Eventually, Y/N arrived at the lowest level, exiting the lift. The sound of gunfire immediately greeted their ears, their curiosity, suffice to say, piqued.
As they stepped round the corner, they noticed two males present within the shooting range, bullet holes raining across the targets.
"I see you're both hard at work." Y/N commented in an amused tone, stepping closer to the pair. Their attention shifted from the guns to Y/N in an instant.
One of the males, Lumine's twin brother, greeted Y/N with a quick wave and a nod of his head. His blonde hair was tied into a long braid that cascaded down his back. His auric-tinted eyes settled on Y/N's face with a gentle expression.
"Y/N! I didn't think that you were going to be in today." The male beside Aether chimed. His aqua green eyes held a prominent fondness in them, a smile lighting up his bright features. His navy hair, consisting of various green tints, was pulled back and tied up carelessly.
"Venti, Aether..." Mused Y/N, a satisfied look washing over their face. "I wasn't planning to come in today, actually. Yet, I do have some work that I'd like to get done."
Aether rose a brow. "I'm assuming you'd like our help?"
"Precisely." Y/N replied firmly. "First off, I unfortunately have a rather boring task for the both of you to complete..."
Venti groaned at these words, an unimpressed frown etching across his face. Aether looked rather unamused, too.
"Paperwork from last week's accident, I presume?" Venti wondered with a sigh.
Y/N nodded. "Well, of course. I thought it'd be rather fitting for the both of you to fill out the paperwork forms seeing as you crashed my car."
"We didn't mean to." Replied Aether. "You know we didn't."
"I'm honestly surprised that the both of you claim you can drive..." Muttered Y/N under their breath, their eyes flittering between the pair.
"Mm, yes... Yet that doesn't change the fact that my car is still in dire need of being repaired, now does it?"
Venti and Aether exchanged uncertain glances with each other before sighing in defeat. They knew first and foremost that Y/N was not somebody to be argued with. If they so pleased, they could tell them to pack their bags and leave instantly.
"Of course, we will start filling out the paperwork right away." Aether informed. "Where can we find it?"
"In my office. All of the details should be there already. If you have any issues, come and find me."
Venti and Aether nodded in understanding before trudging towards the lift in reluctant movements. They entered the lift and pressed the button that would take them to the very first floor of the building; this being where Y/N's office was located.
As the pair left in the lift, Y/N eventually heard the faint sound of bickering coming from the car park. They chuckled in amusement, immediately knowing who was bickering.
"No doubt something stupid again..." They whispered under their breath before stepping foot into the car park. Sure enough, they noticed two males stood outside of a car, arguing with each other, frustrated expressions adorning each of their faces.
"Need I ask what's happened this time?" Y/N sighed.
"You need to assign me to go on missions with somebody else, that's what." One of the males grumbled, visibly irked. His name was Diluc and whilst, most of the time, he appeared to be a calm and collected individual, there was one person in particular who always seemed to break this demeanour of his. That being his brother, Kaeya.
"I think you'll find that you'd be dead without me, Diluc." Kaeya sassed as he folded his arms across his chest.
"Dead? Without you?" Echoed the other in utter disbelief, a scoff of amusement escaping his lips. "The other way round sounds most fitting to me."
"Let me guess..." Y/N begun, used to the brother's constant shenanigans. "Diluc is going to tell me that you, Kaeya, can't drive for shit. Would I be correct?"
"You would." Nodded Diluc in confirmation. "He's aware that Aether and Venti crashed yet another one of your cars and still chose to drive recklessly-"
"That's just how I normally drive!"
Y/N sighed heavily as the brother's continued to argue over Kaeya's poor driving, desperately trying to conjure up some sort of solution.
I should've stayed home. They thought.
