So, to start off, the new tower boss. Her name is Saya Kurosaki. She appears to speak kinda cryptically. In one of her diary entries she says that Victor and Axel are fighting. I wonder why.

Anyways my brain has been whirring since i read the diary entry ingame
Ysee, i've seen a theory that axel wants to burn down the world tree
My original HC was that he wanted to do that cause his family was trapped inside but victor was connected to it so if it was destroyed he would turn into a monster
Simpler version - HC that they're fighting cause if axel burns down the tree victor will turn into a monster but if axel doesn't burn the tree he'll never see his family again.
But that sounds really random.
My new one is
Axel's group is the brotherhood of the eternal pyre. What if this "Eternal Pyre" that they worship is inside the world tree? This eternal pyre is meant to replace the sun when it burns out.
(Theres a storage unit and it's description says its from an ancient civilization BUT IT'S A MODERN DAY STORAGE CARGO CONTAINER. Meaning this is the deep future where the sun is closer to burning out than it it rn.)
So Axel is trying to burn the world tree down to free the eternal pyre so we don't die from lack of sunlight, and Victor is trying to tell him if he DOES burn down the tree, everything will die, cause, well it's the WORLD TREE. It sustains the life of the entire world.
Neither of them realise at that point they're all screwed either way. (Unless they figure out a way to burn enough of the world tree to free the pyre, but without burning it to the point of its death.)
On a somewhat related note it appears that Saya is slightly annoyed (understatement) with Victor too.
