Ariyahs POV

Malin and I have been talking to Alex and Isiah's mom in the kitchen about all the things they got into as kids.

"I swear they got their competitive spirit from their father. That man loved his sports." She reminisces.

"Alex almost broke Isiah's arm and rib on Saturday because he wouldn't tap. Those two are dangerous when it comes to any competition." Malin says eating her 5th cookie since we got here that Jamie had just took out of the oven.

"Lord those two are a handful. I don't know how you two do it."

I shrug. "I've just witnessed it firsthand this past weekend. Didn't know they were always like that. I'm sure you had your hands full every day." I say laughing sympathetically.

"You have no idea." She shakes her head while she prepares the Mac and cheese for dinner tomorrow.

"Ooh Sam is coming?" Malin asks Jamie.

"Yes all their cousins are." She puts it in the oven. "Oh that reminds me, Camille is supposed to be stopping by. I told her mother that Alex and Isiah were in town and she let her know." Malin freezes from texting at that and looks up at me.

"Who's Camille?" I ask.

Jamie and and Malin look at each other knowingly and I smile awkwardly. "Sweetie, Alex didn't tell you?"

She interrupted by Isiah and Alex coming downstairs. "I smell cookies." Isiah says going to grab one, kissing Jamie's cheek and sitting by Malin at the island.

Alex stands behind me and wraps her arms around my shoulders. It's still quiet. "Why is it so quiet? Did we interrupt 'girl talk'?" Alex ask laughing and taking a cookie.

"Who's Camille?" I ask. And Isiah stops chewing his cookie and looks at Alex. Everyone looks at Alex and I turn my head to look at her nervous and guilty face. "Alex?"

"Go on in the living room with that conversation. I need love in this kitchen, not drama." Jamie says shooing us out the kitchen.

Alex silently grabs my hand to guide me into the living room and stand in front of me. "Baby who is she?" I ask again.

"Camille is my ex. Specifically my first and only girlfriend before you." She says with a shaky voice.

"And whats so special about her?" I ask trying not to sound upset that's something I don't know.

She swallows. "She's my first in everything."

I cringe at that. "Everything? As in sex, kiss." She nods her head. "Is she still present?"

"No." She says fast. "Not exactly. My mom and her mom are church friends, therefore they still keep in touch and I guess she asks about me still."

"Is she going to be a problem tomorrow at dinner?" I ask.

She shakes her head no but it's not convincing enough for me. "She shouldnt be. We didn't end well."

"What happened?"

"She cheated on me while I was in college. With my roommate. I walked in on them and it was a whole thing. Things got physical on her part. She was very toxic and manipulative and abusive after high school. So after the whole cheating thing I ended it because I told my parents and Isiah and Malin fought her for me last thanksgiving she showed up."

I laugh at the fact Malin fought a girl. "Were you scared I wouldn't want to come if I knew about her?" I ask seriously. She nodded. I cup her cheeks in hands to make her look at me. "Baby. You can tell me things. Even if you think they'll make me upset. Im understanding. If she causes problems it's an easy fix of kicking her out. Ok?" She nods her head.

"I'm sorry. I just know we just got done with Crystal, I didn't want to add another barrier into our relationship."

"Oh baby there's no barrier. You're mine remember." I grip neck to bring it close my face. She nods. And I kiss her passionately. "Then there's nothing and no one who can ever stop that. We good?"

"Yes ma'am." She kisses me again.

"Good. Now let's enjoy thanksgiving with our family please." I take her hand and we walk back in the kitchen where it gets quiet and everyone eyes us.

"So?" Isiah asks.

"We're fine." Alex says and leads me back into the stool at the island with her arms back wrapped around me and kisses my cheek.

"Good." Jamie says clapping her hands.

"I still will fight a bitch." Malin says. We all laugh.

"Language Malin!" Jamie scolds Malin.

"Sorry mom." She says like a child getting in trouble by their mother.

After Jamie finishes preparing thanksgiving dinner, we all retire to the living room to watch Harry Potter. They get their love of movies from their mom apparently. Alex and I are on a bean bag chair with me in her lap. Malin and Isiah are laying on the couch with Malin laying on Isiah's chest. And Jamie is sitting on her recliner sewing something she says will 'come together eventually'.

I chose not to spend thanksgiving with my family and Crystal due to not being able to spend time with Alex all week since we couldn't see each other from getting back from vacation. My parents know about Alex and she said she'll come with me to visit them for Christmas so I'm excited for that.

Alex kisses my cheek. And I turn to face her, smiling. "What?" I ask playing with her rings on her fingers.

"I just love you so much." She says kissing me softly.

"Ugh get a room." Isiah groans and Malin hits arm.

"Shut up. You should be kissing me anyway." She says folding her arms over her chest.

"You're right baby. I'm sorry. Come upstairs and I'll make it up to you." Isiah says in whisper but we could all hear it. And kisses Malin on her neck.

"Ah ah! Take that shit upstairs. But I don't want to hear it down here. Y'all know the rules." Jamie says shooing them. They run upstairs hand in hand giggling like teenagers. After 2 minutes we hear a faint sound of music playing.

"That's so gross." Alex cringes."

"Oh yeah." I grab her face and turn it so my mouth is directly at her ear. "Are you not going to make me feel better too?" I whimper in her ear. She shivers and her eyes grow dark at my voice.

She swallows and picks me up bridal style making me laugh. "We're heading up to my room ma. We'll see you tomorrow for breakfast." Alex says and carrying me upstairs to her room.
