Ashes to ashes, dust to dust;
when we die, our bodies return to the earth from which they came.

RHAELLA HAD always been quite smart for her age, perhaps even too smart. She knew there was something different about her, She knew she had to be a bastard. I mean look at her compared to her siblings. You could tell she was Daemons but she certainly was not Laena's.
Every time she'd try and bring it up, or mention anything of the sort to her mother she'd get the same response. Laena would cup her cheeks forcing the girl to look up at her, "You're my babe, Rhaella." Before she'd place a kiss on the girls head.
The more she heard those words, the more upset she would get. Laena would always be her mother, no matter what, but she wanted to know who the woman who birthed her was.
Asking her father was impossible considering he would barely even look at her half the time. He hated her.
She pulled herself away from her thoughts, placing down her brush and standing, walking towards her chamber door, stepping out into the hallway and closing the door behind her.
She carefully made her way towards Rhaena's chamber, watching each of her steps intently, silently tracing each stone in the wall as she passed them.
As she went to walk passed the library she heard familiar voices and decided to see who had been awake.
Rhaella peered her head around the corner, noticing Daemon and Baela sitting together, her brows furrowed as she saw the book that had been placed on the table in front of them. She watched as Daemon read to Baela, a small frown tugging at her lips.
She hadn't known how long she stood there watching, her frown only growing the longer Daemon had kept reading with a small smile on his face.
Did he read to her often? Baela never spoke of their father in front of Rhaella, so she thought that maybe he treated them the same way.
But as she watched Daemon place a kiss to Baelas forehead as she stood and walked towards hers chambers that thought had vanished.
Her grip on the wall tightened as she watched her mother take Baelas place, her and Daemon immediately starting to talk about something. She pushed herself away from the wall, silently continuing to make her way towards Rhaena's chamber.
She knocked softly, hearing Rhaena's quiet voice telling her to enter. Once she stepped inside she closed the door behind her, noticing Rhaena had been sitting on the floor infront of the fire with a dragon egg.
"Sister." Rhaena greeted her quietly, her eyes only leaving the egg for a short moment.
Rhaella didn't say anything as she made her way closer, deciding to sit on the floor across from her sister, her own eyes trailing towards the Dragons egg. "Have you picked a name yet?" She questioned, watching as the fire engulfed the egg.
"No.." Rhaena uttered, "I wanted to think of something amazing like Moondancer and Drogon."
Rhaella smiled softly at the mention of her dragon before she quickly let her smile fade, "Whatever you think of will be much better than Drogon."
Rhaena's brows furrowed as she finally tore her eyes away from the Dragon egg and looked at Rhaella, "Why did you name him that?"
Rhaella shook her head gently, biting the inside of her cheek, "It's stupid."
"Please?" Rhaena protested, reaching out and placing her hand on Rhaellas.
"I thought father would like it." She admitted, looking down at the floor between them, "It was different and.. scary, so I thought he would be happy.." She trailed off, "He never even gave it a second thought."
Rhaena's grip on Rhaellas hand tightened as she moved closer to her sister, resting her head upon her shoulder and looking back towards the fire. "He's always preferred Baela." She murmured, it had been very clear her and Rhaella had been like shadows while Baela shined like a star in front of their father, "She has a dragon, she's oldest and she's brave, she's everything he needs in a child. Though you're all those things too, perhaps he's just an idiot."
Rhaella couldn't help the small giggle that slipped passed her lips, putting a small smile on Rhaena's face as well. "He's certainly an idiot." She agreed, staying silent for a moment as she got lost in her thoughts, "We could share Drogon."
Rhaena pulled her head away from Rhaellas shoulder, her brows furrowed again as she looked at her sister as though she had three heads, "Share?"
"He'll be large enough to saddle two soon." Rhaella continued her thought, "We could ride him together or maybe he will even let you saddle him alone."
Without another word Rhaena threw her arms around her sister, squeezing her tightly.
"Sorry!" Rhaena murmured, releasing her from her grip, a huge smile now taking over, "Do you really think we can both ride Drogon one day?"
"To the stars." Rhaella nodded, looking around, "Can I sleep with you tonight?"
"Come." Rhaena whispered, grabbing hold of Rhaellas hand and pulling her up, practically dragging her towards her bed, pulling down the many furs that covered her bed and jumping in.
Rhaella pulled the furs up, covering herself completely, leaving only her eyes out so she could look out the window and out into the dark sky, watching as the stars shined, lighting up the darkness.
Her eyes slowly began to close, the soft sound of Rhaena's breathing filling the air as she drifted off, all her worry's tugging farther and farther away.
