Maka flipped a page, boredly reading the book that was on the table. She sighed tiredly, placing her chin on her palm.
"Wow. You look really worn out."
She blinked, and looked up, seeing a white-haired male, holding two trays of food. He was staring down plainly at her, blinking as he bent down a bit to read bits of the book. "Is that a textbook ? No... That's a novel."
Maka stared, and awkwardly closed the book. "...Uh... Yeah."
The male laughed, and placed the tray down on her table. "Well, enjoy your book, Miss. Here's your shortcake and your tea. Thanks for ordering !" He said with a shrug, and walked off.
Maka blinked, and stared down at the tray.
"......I ordered ice cream."

The next day, Maka sat on her usual seat--the one near the window. She fixed her bag a bit, and found a comfortable sitting position, before looking up to see him, again.
"Hi ! What's your order ?"
Maka blinked, and suddenly bursted out in laughter. "It's you !"
The male blinked, and smirked slightly. "Oh, right. The bookworm girl. Shortcakes again ?"
"I ordered ice cream last time."
The male paused, and furrowed his eyebrows. "...Really ?" Maka made a laugh at his confused comment. "Yes. But, whatever. The shortcake is nice, and besides... I paid less."
The albino grumbled, his red eyes holding an annoyed stare. "You should've said something. That'll be detucted to my salary !"
Maka shrugged, giggling. "I'm sorry."
He sighed, and placed his hands on the table, leaning down a bit close to her and staring at her green, emerald eyes. Maka stared back with a faint blush, "What is he doing ?" She thought.
"So much for a free discount from my mistake." He said in what seemed like a... "Whatever" tone, showing his shark teeth as he mumbled. "That's like--the tenth time this week !"
Maka blinked, and leaned back before laughing loudly. "You suck at this job, huh ?"
"Hell yeah." He pulled himself back and held his notepad again. "So what is it this time, missy ?"
"The one you gave me yesterday. It tastes nice !" Maka smiled gleefully at him, her eyes landing on his name plate, the one pinned to his left chest. "But without the tea... Soul."
The said male looked down at his name plate, and grinned at her, fixing it slightly. "Just in case I get the orders wrong again, what's your name ?"
"Maka."
Soul gave a nod, and wrote down the order AND her name, then grinned again, showing off his shark teeth. "Those teeth are weirdly eye-catching." Maka noted, making her mentally slap herself. How could she mentally say that to a person she just met yesterday ?
"Well then, Maka. I'll get going now. Be right back with your shortcake !" Soul said and happily waltzed off, barely dodging his co-worker Tsubaki, who only smiled at him and placed trays to another table.
Maka laughed, and watched. "So much for a waiter..."
After minutes, the white-haired male brought two trays--again
"...Maka, right ?" He asked, and grinned, placing the tray of the strawberry short cake on her table. "There you go !"
Maka laughed, clapping slightly. "Way to go, Soul ! You got it right !" She grinned, and took the small plate. "Thank you."
