"I can finally say
I'm truly happy"

Six months later

UPON AWAKENING TO THE reality of Mun's global travels, Thea's first day was notably challenging. The following week in his absence proved to be quite distressing, and the first month felt like an ordeal of immense suffering. Each passing day without him presented new obstacles that she had to confront and acclimate to. Despite their consistent communication via calls or video calls, the experience did not compare to being able to meet in person, face to face.

The screens on their phones failed to fulfill their longing for physical touch and connection such as hugging or holding hands. The physical distance separating them made it challenging for both of them to see each other through their phone screens without being able to physically touch one another.

Thea had registered at her desired university, a renowned institution, to follow a career in art to bring pride to Mun. It had been half a year since his departure, and she only knew that he was currently in Germany, relishing his time there. Thea had developed new friendships, frequently encountering Soo-Jin and Su-Ho in the corridors, although she desired to reconnect with them, the thought of Su-Ho being close to demise because of her persisted in her thoughts.

Even though Thea had formed new friendships, she remained cautious about becoming too emotionally attached. She was determined not to repeat past mistakes that could potentially harm her friends. As a result, she limited her interactions with them to occasional social gatherings, prioritizing her career and responsibilities as a Counter.

"Mun, I'm doing very well"

Thea delicately glided the petite brush across the firm texture of the canvas, with only a faint stream of sunlight filtering into the art studio. Her hair was neatly pulled back into a ponytail, and her bangs were fashioned into trendy curtain bangs, framing her face gracefully. Donning a black apron to shield her slight frame, she diligently toiled away in the studio, putting the final touches on her masterpiece that was scheduled for delivery by week's end.

"I have many friends, and somehow I ended up becoming quite popular among the senior students."

Thea contemplates the occasions when male students of various ages at university flirted with her, presented her with small tokens of affection, and eventually invited her on dates. Some of them made direct declarations of their feelings on the spot. Naturally, Thea turned down all these propositions and disclosures, emphasizing her committed four-and-a-half-year relationship with her boyfriend. Subsequently, there was speculation about the identity of this enigmatic boyfriend whom she frequently mentioned but never introduced to anyone. Some even speculated that Thea had fabricated him to sidestep romantic entanglements.
