Avery's POV
It was graduation day at Sierra Heights, and I had an appointment with one of the Sandoval family's makeup artists. I'm at the salon right now getting ready.
Tyler drove me there, katatapos lang niya magjogging kasama si Tyrone nung sinabi kong ihatid niya ako. He hadn't even showered yet at nagpalit lang siya ng damit and wear a casual clothes.
Mamayang hapon pa naman ang graduation namin. On occasions like this, it's usually the girls who are busy, boys are just chill since there's nothing much to prep for them.
When we arrived outside the salon, I adjusted my bag. Inayos ko na rin ang suot kong damit. Nakazipper dress lang ako para hindi ito mahirap hubarin mamaya kapag nagbihis na ako.
"Don't forget to text me after you're done here. I'll come pick you up later," he said.
I smiled. "Alright, I'll let you know."
He looked at me teasingly. "And don't forget my goodbye kiss."
I looked at him for a few seconds before leaning in to kiss him. I gave him a quick kiss on the lips.
I noticed how sweet he'd been these past few days. Whenever we slept, he always held me close. Everymorning, tuloy tuloy pa din ang fresh flowers sa vase namin sa living room.
"Now go on, I'll see you later," he smiled.
I just nodded. "See you."
I got out of the car. He drove off shortly after, so I went inside the salon.
To my surprise, I saw Analea there, getting herself styled. She looked startled when she saw me, but quickly put on a fake smile and greeted me. "Oh, hey, Avery."
Bakit pilit kami pinagtatagpong dalawa lagi?
I smiled back and nodded in response as I sat down next to her while the stylist began working on me.
I kept myself occupied with my phone, trying to avoid small talk with Analea. However, she broke the silence abruptly.
"How was your unwind trip at the Sandoval farmhouse?" Analea asked casually.
"It was fine," I replied tersely.
Analea smirked mischievously and continued, "And how's your ankle?"
My eyes widened in surprise. "How did you know about my ankle?"
Analea dismissed both stylists attending to me and to her so we could talk privately. The stylists stepped away, leaving us alone.
Analea cleared her throat before speaking again, "Too bad the wild boar didn't catch you."
I looked at her in disbelief. I couldn't believe she knew about that incident. "How did you know all of that?"
Realization hit me. It was seen on CCTV that a woman had cut the fence, but her face couldn't be identified because she was wearing a hood and a facemask. Siya ba yung babae na yun?
"D-Did you cut the fence to let the wild boar escape?" I asked incredulously.
Analea burst into laughter, admitting to her mischievous act. "You're quite smart, Avery. Yes, I cut the fence. I was curious about what secrets you might be hiding."
I felt a surge of frustration and anger. "You risked our safety just to satisfy your curiosity?"
She met my gaze calmly. "Sometimes, Avery, risks are necessary to uncover the truth. You of all people should understand that."
"Why did you do that? Didn't you think you were putting our lives in danger?" I still couldn't believe of what she did.
"I knew they could protect themselves, and as for you, I knew you were vulnerable. Luckily, you were the one attacked by the wild boar. It's a shame it didn't finish the job." She said, pretending to be sad.
