As Nicole and Wheatley continued testing Wheatley decided to talk to Nicole about her life and why she had so many injuries. "Hey Nicole, out of curiosity how did you get those injuries?" Wheatley said making Nicole pause. "Well, to put it short my Mom and Stepdad would beat the shit out of me if I did something wrong." Nicole said as they finished another chamber. "That's horrible! Why would they do that?!" Wheatley asked as Nicole sighed. "Because they don't give a shit about me. All they care about is my sister Audrey and my step brother Isaiah." Nicole said as they entered another chamber.
Nicole didn't want to talk about her childhood but knew that she couldn't keep it a secret forever. "They hit you because they favor your siblings instead of you?" Wheatley asked making Nicole sigh. "Yeah. I'll explain later when we escape." Nicole said as they walked a bit to see the portal gun stand. "This is where the portal device is!" Wheatley said as he started to approach the podium before being stopped by Nicole. "Huh? What is it?" Wheatley asked as Nicole sighed. "The ground is unstable..we should be careful." Nicole said making Wheatley smile. "It can't be that bad! Look!" Wheatley said as the two started walking over to the podium before feeling the ground give out from under them and fell.
After a bit Nicole woke up to Wheatley next to her worried. "Ugh... W-Wheatley?" Nicole said making Wheatley's face light up. "Nicole! I thought you died there for a second." Wheatley said helping Nicole up. "I told you the ground was unstable." Nicole said making Wheatley laugh nervously. "My bad then." Wheatley said as the two walked over finding the portal gun. "Here it is! Now, it's time to leave!" Wheatley said as the two started walking. But as the two made their way up the platform Nicole noticed a sketch on the wall of Chell and smiled. "Huh, that's weird. I wonder who made this." Wheatley said making Nicole smile. "Doug Rattman..." Nicole said looking at the sketches. "I'm sorry who?" Wheatley asked making Nicole smile. "Don't worry about it Wheatley. Let's keep going." Nicole said as the two kept going.
