Chapter 2: Bofurin

Medusa was now a third year along side Umemiya and works along side the four devas despite not being affliated with any of them- Medusa switches between each of the four squads as more of an assistant and to provide resources and messages between them when needed.

The day of the first years arrival was soon coming up and Medusa decided to head into the city and to a small local cafe which he visited with the other Bofurin members frequently, he helped around the cafe more than the others and was one of the few that could show up early since he also helped by working there on occasion, when he arrived- he headed up the steps and tried the door but felt the handle was stiff meaning it was locked. He sat on the stairs waiting and fixed his blindfold he was still having to wear due to doctor's orders. He was waiting around 20 minutes before he heard two sets of footsteps and began to smirk knowing one was Kotoha and that she was joined by a male from the walking patterns.

Kotoha: " I didn't realise you'd be here this early Mass, I'm so sorry let's get you inside "

Mass: " It's ok Ki~chan, I appreciate the help but I'm not that defenceless plus you have a guest with you so don't worry "

He was lifted gently by the girl as he laughed a bit but was guided inside, he felt along the sides before making it behind the counter and sitting on a chair she had set up for him behind there, the person she had brought with her also walked in and sat on the customer side of the counter and was turned away as Medusa could tell from the sound of the metal. Kotoha soon dimmed the lights a bit so it wasn't so bright.

Kotoha: " Anyway Mass, what did the doctor's say? You did go yesterday right? "

Mass: " Yeah I did don't worry, not risking a slap from you for not going "

Kotoha: " Good you're learning "

Mass: " Yeah the doctor said I should be fine in another year if nothing goes wrong, have to keep the blindfold on since bright lights can cause worse damage "

Kotoha: " really another year... medical bills to much for surgery still "

Mass: " Yeah over 2 million yen... "

Kotoha: " shit... Anyway, let's not drag down the subject- Sakura where are you from? "

Both guys: " Outta town.. "

Kotoha: " Why'd you both answer? "

Both guys: " My family name is Sakura? "

Mass: " Haruka? "

Sakura: " Masimune? "

Kotoha: " HUH!! "

A long conversation ensued, the basis of it was that Sakura (Haruka) and Sakura (Mass) both were brothers with Mass being older and preferring his nickname over his family name which Sakura still went by, no one knew of Mass' last name except Kotoha but she didn't seem to connect the dots when talking to them. Kotoha then tried asking why they didn't know eachother were in the area if they were brothers.

Mass: " long story short, I was the so called golden child until that happened and I was kicked out for 'disgracing the family' or some bullshit- I didn't stay in touch with Sakura because I thought he hated me since our parents didn't seem to like him because he got in fights, I didn't fight it since it was my job as a big brother to make things right and I thought just leaving would make our parents love Sakura more "

Sakura: " It didn't work... they still hated me like everyone else "

Mass: " I don't, you're my little brother so there's no chance I'll hate you- I miss not being able to see your hair and eye, I use to think you looked badass like a character from a manga or anime! "

Sakura: " It's not to dark in here idiot just take the blindfold off "

Kotoha: " Sakura! It's not like that it's- "

Mass: " Leave it Kotoha, It'll be easier to show him "

Mass began to remove his blindfold, slipping it down his face and around his neck as he revealed his eyes which were milky white as a damaged lense covered his eyes and heavily scarred burns covered the area around his eyes, Sakura looked shocked but Mess couldn't see that- he moved his hand closer and since he could make out shapes, he could tell Sakura was reaching towards him, he gently guided his brother's hand to the scars and let him feel them.

Sakura: " What the hell happened.... "

Mass: " It's a long story, I'll tell it another time since I hear a big group outside... "

Mass, Kotoha and Sakura headed outside as they walked to the stairs, Kotoha ran Mass up to speed on what happened as she explained she was being pressured by some asshole and Sakura saved her but now he was back with some cronies who were probably numbering 50, they were ready to gang up on them as sakura headed down immediately to fight them. Mass joined him as he walked to the railing.

??: " shit it's a Bofurin higher up! Medusa the snake charmer! We might be cooked here! "

??: " As if, look, he's blind! "

Mass headed down, feeling the rail as he heard all the noises going off- he pinpointed certain sounds to tell where people were and sort of had a sixth sense for knowing if people were nearby, Sakura began to fight them as some rushed at Mass and as Sakura tired to turn and help, he saw his blind brother choking a dude with his hand as he held him in the air.

Mass: " Not as phsyically weak as I use to be but I'll still give you the Medusa experience, buckle in the ride may get bumpy "

He threw the guy towards sakura who kicked him into the ground, he looked at his brother to complain but saw as he had two chains in each hand wrapped around two fingers each before resting either side of the middle finger. Mass began to swing the chains around, cracking them off the floor before swinging them and hitting a bunch of the goons- they were heavily injured as the thick metal links whacked against their ribs with intense speed, Mass began to move around them becoming basically untouchable as the chains flew around like snakes and either pulled people's legs out from under them or all four wrapped around someone and were used to throw them- he truly was like medusa as his chains felt like they were alive..
