If I could talk to my younger self, I don't think I would sugar coat things like adults tend to do. It doesn't prepare you for the world we live in. You come into the world believing fairy tales have happy endings. The truth is life's a rollercoaster and it doesn't matter how much you plan for anything to happen it won't always work out that way. I think sports are good for kids because if you really think about it let's take softball for example the team has your back when you're up to bat, they're cheering you on from the sidelines giving you all the support in the world; but when you're up to bat you are up there alone you stand alone you swing alone you hit or miss alone. Growing up with friends and family is like having that team cheering for you on the sidelines, but when it comes to making decisions you're batting alone. You gotta figure it out regardless of who has your back and is there for you. We're born alone, we live alone, and we die alone. That doesn't mean we don't make connections or fall in love.
