"Enter," bellowed the headmaster.
Harry was almost afraid to go in at first, but felt relieved to see a pair of smiling blue eyes at the other end of the door.
"Take a seat, Harry," Dumbledore said in his great, rumbling voice. Harry through it strange that the office was set up for three and that the headmaster seemed almost disappointed to find Harry on his own.
He sat down on the armchair and forced himself to relax, "Sir, I've come to ask you about enrolments at Hogwarts."
"Harry, you know perfectly well that Hogwarts only offers invitations once a year," he said putting his quill down.
"Right," Harry sighed, getting right to the point, "so...what if someone wanted to enrol late?"
"Well there would be much paperwork to be done. And of course- with their parents' permission, I suppose so."
Harry opened his mouth as if to say more, and thought better of it, getting up to leave. "Harry?" Dumbledore interrupted, "do you have anything more to say?"
"No, sir."
"Well, then I thought it better if you keep this," he said holding a golden amulet with a blue, green, red and amber gem fitted into a circle pendant.
It looked like a curious little thing but Harry had a feeling he knew what it was. He looked at Dumbledore strangely with a hint of smile upon his lips. Somehow the old man never failed to surprise them, even now, in a time of need, presenting him with a shadowing amulet.
